If your toddler purposely tipped his yogurt on the floor because he wanted a chocolate mousse and you said he couldn't because he'd already eaten some chocolate that day would you ask him to clean it up or at least help clean it up and would you then give another yogurt when he decides actually he would rather have a yogurt than nothing.

Yes I would get him to help clean it up.

No I wouldn' give another yoghurt, it was his choice to tip it on the floor instead of eat it, he can face the consequences.

Not sure if that is pure UP though, I don't follow any book or rules but have had my parenting techniques described as quite unconditional by others.

have to sa though, i'd probably die of shock if ds1 purposefully tipped yogurt on the floor, maybe UP isn't for me if that's what you put up with

PinkTulips my DS has never purposely tipped anything on the floor as a result of getting cross about not being allowed anything!

I think it says more about the child's personality than the pareting choices of the parents!

i think young children do things like that out of frustration and yes i would give him another...but i am very soft, and chocolate does taste better so hes got a point lol
