Teething help?

DS is teething his top incisors, and it's worse than the bottom were. He's running temperatures, bashing himself in the face with his fists, pulling at his ears till he scratches them to blood, crying in his sleep and waking up every couple of hours inconsolably distressed... I'm using (Boots own label double-strength) bonjela, Calpol when feverish, giving chilled chompers and dummies, trying to tire him out in the day with lots of fun distractions so it takes his mind off things, and he's exhausted enough to sleep well at night... are there any more tips on stuff you can do, or is that it?

Have you taken him to your doctor. It sounds to me (i'm no expert) that he may have an ear infection. He shouldn't have a high temp when teething so i would get it checked out just incase.
Have you tried Ashton and Parsons teething powder? They transformed ds1 when he was teething. They sell them on the high st, places like Boots, Savers etc.
HTH.

Yeah, I took him earlier in the week, the doctor said he was just having a very tough time of it but no ear infection - I was almost hoping there was, if that makes sense, because at least that would be treatable! The heat really isn't helping his fever, either, poor little chap.

Thanks for the powders tip; haven't done that and will try them.
