hi was just wondering if swimming makes nappy rash worse? the skin isn't broken but is very red and raw looking, so not too sure about swimming? any advice greatly appreciated.

My dd aged 2.2 suffers with nappy rash a lot. When its bad she won't even sit in a warm bath so I've never thought about taking her swimming. I'm guessing but I reckon the chlorine would irritate the skin- I think I'd leave the swimming til it was all healed.

Don't know about Nappy Rash but DS has really sensitive skin and always reacts in red blotches when we go swimming. Was advised by skin specialist to cover him in Vaseline before swimming as it forms a barrier - works for him so seems the same principal for nappy rash I'd say.

thanks for the replies. went to the chemist to get some more metanium and asked there. they said as long as the cream was on it should be fine. the nappy rash wasn't made any worse by the swimming, in fact possibly a bit better.
