play dens for children

I'd like to get ds a garden "den" of his own for his birthday (he will only be 2 but has always liked having his own little corners that he can play in). I can't afford and don't want anything fancy but do want something rain-proof. I was thinking of trying to get a cheap garden shed and then personalising it but having looked at B&Q and Homebase, their sheds all seem to be well over £100. Any ideas where I can get a probably wooden shed that would have space for 1-3 children, ideally an adult could stand up in it (hence garden shed idea) and I could fit in a small child's table or a little children's kitchen set or something like that. Ideas gratefully received. Thanks

not what you want but have you considered a pop-up tent? - you can see in it, the children can sit on the floor and have a picnic and you can use it inside and out

will look for a shed for you too

I think if you wanted a pre-built 'shed' you'd not get one for less than 100

do you knwo any carpenters?

you can always build a little private place with a washing line and a blanket

That's a great idea Twiglett. Happy to present dh (final and stern arbitrator of any ideas against the "are we spoiling ds" question) with pop-up tent v shed option. Can you suggest where I could get such a tent (but please keep thinking about sheds as well).

pop-up tents are everywhere - amazon, argos, toys-r-us - they're up to about £40 I think

don't think you'd get a wooden or plastic shed for your budget

From Monday LIDL are selling a 3-in-1 set of pop-up stuff - a wigwam and a small tent joined by a tunnel - for £14.99. We got the usual LIDL loss leader leaflet through the door this week, and it's in that. I'd buy it myself if we didn't already have a set - works well for us, and you can't go far wrong at that price.

Thanks for these. Guess I was being too optimistic. What is LIDL? That sounds a bargain (while I consider how I can afford a shed).

Lidl - it is a scandanavian (???) supermarket that sells food and hosuehold stuff very cheaply. I am sure if you google Lidl you will get a main number to call and then you can find out where your nearest one is!

Found it, thank you! Wish I could buy online though. You don't seem to be able to do that, at least with the UK site and the nearest store is a bit of a hike.
