intolerant, duh.

it's wider than that though - the british in general, parents or not
and yes, imo, more so than elsewhere in any case

What a shallow report.

Can you give some examples of what you mean?

what is shallow? the un report or the bbc report? the bbc report doesn't go into too much depth, there was a bit more about it in some of the other papers

i didn't know til today that the age of criminal responsibility in scotland was 8, for example. if not misreported, that seems a fairly intolerant and negative attitude towards children imo. 10 in england is not too much better

asylum seekers' children being kept in, to all extend and purposes, prison is not too kind and fluffy either

for example

sure I could think of lots of other examples if I tried, but UN has prob done it already.

I meant the BBC report.

I just wondered why you think that UK parents adn the British in general are intolerant - you spoke as if from a different pov, presumably nationality based

It makes me think that when these "on high" people push out their wisdom, that they do not seem to have children themselves.

morocco Fri 03-Oct-08 21:52:39

just went off to read the report

i don't think it is too nice to allow the use of tasers on children either

sure I'll be back with more in a minute, but here's the link to the report

this is an incredibly detailed report, am shock at some of the things I'm learning

v interesting that it recommends the ending of segregated education in n/ireland

back to the 'religious schools' thread, then, for that one

and something for all the bf gurus with the criticism of aggressive marketing of formula milk

funny the way the media are choosing to focus on 'supernanny to be banned' or 'we all hate kids' type headlines instead of the nitty gritty details of some of these recommendations
