Oh no! Mortified series has ended, and they want to go back to Tracy Beaker....

Banned Tracy Beaker ages ago as my DC's were turning into mini-versions.

Then they found Mortified (hooray!) which is a squeaky-clean Aussie series about a girl who dresses and acts like a normal pre-teen. But it's finished.

Would you let them watch the dreaded Tracy again, or should I stick to my guns?!

TB is banned in our house. It probably depends on the age of your dcs though. My eldest is only about to turn 8.

I wouldn't ban it at any age.

How old are your DCs??? Have you/they read the book. I read it to my DS and it puts everything into context. I found it quite poignant really and DS1 asked lots of questions about Tracey's situation.

I actually think if you watch the programme it is very worthwhile. My Dad used to hate it beacuse he just thought it was about a naughty gril but when he started watching whole episodes he realsied it was saying something quite valid. It' s the only drama I've seen where they have a disabled actress and she is just one of the characters along with Tracey and isn't singled out because of he disability.

Definitely wouldn't ban it (although Dick and Dom is another matter )

My DD loves TB and she is only 4.5

Have to admit to being horrifield the first time I saw it and banned it for a while.

But somehow I missed it being on and realised how much DD liked it and had a chat with her about how I do NOT want her saying things like bog off!.. She gets that it isn't nice behaviour and said that she doesn't want to be like TB but enjoys watching it.

I even sky+ it now for her so she gets to watch it when she comes home from school for 30 mins or so then does reading homework with me at 5.00pm.

BUT, if she started to copy the behaviout then it would be off...
