Occassional bed wetting

Hoping that someone else has had similar experience and can give me adivce.

dd1 is 6 yr old. Had been dry at night from 3 yrs old. Dd3 came along 8 months ago (dd1 was 5 at the time). Two weeks after she was born, dd1 had the first wet night. Basically since dd3 came along she has had a wet night about every 2 and a half months.
I have went onto web sites but not came across many stories or any, of children wetting themselves as infrequently as this.

Don;t think she has had any infections or anything as she has always seemed fine.

She seems to really love "her baby" as she calls her. Never seen her act jealously towards her. My 3 daughters seem quite happy.

I am hoping it is just a phase that will pass. But, just as I begin to relax and think it won't happen again she will then have a wet night.

Hoping someone has been through a similar experience. Any advice greatly welcome

Hi,
My DD is 6 and we have bery very infrequent wet beds.
COuld it be:-
tiredness, drinking too near bedtime, drinking the "wronge "thing (ours tends to happen if DD drinks orange juice rather than milk as teatime drink).
We also think she had one bout of bedwetting as a result of having threadworm.
Probably won't help, but didn't want it to go unnoticed! Baby might be a red herring - DD got HSM pyjamas, very very happy with them....wet bed that very night and soaked new PJs.

Judd, thanks for reply. Our daughters seem to have a similar trait! Dh said maybe it happens occassionally when she has drank too much in the evening. It is though, because it happens so rarely that I am not able to remember if she drank alot or didn't go to the toilet before getting into bed, cause you relax and think she is over it!!
I have read that it can also happen if your child is a really deep sleeper. I don't think she is particularily.

Hi - my son (12) wets the bed about twice a year and I still don't know what the trigger is. He does have a mattress protector on the bed just in case. It doesn't seem to wake him up so I wonder if it's just pure tiredness?

As a child, I also wet the bed and even up to adulthood would do so occasionally. I haven't done it since I've had children!

I have exactly the same with my 6 year old DS - probably every 6 weeks or so. I don't worry about it too much (I've got a more frequent bed wetter aged 4 too!) and just make sure he's gone to the toilet just before bedtime. He also only gets a small glass of water with his evening meal and nothing more unless he asks, which is very rare.

The worst thing about it is that he tried to sort it out himself ... he changes his pyjamas in the middle of the night and then comes into bed with us. In the morning I walk into the room to find wet pyjamas in the washing basket and I'm told that "It's OK Mum, the bed was wet but it's dried now!". Nice!

Lazywomen- it is strange that your son only wets the bed twice a year.
Sorry I am typing on a new lap top and keep messing it up. It is too small for my fat fingers!!
Blueset-Having two kids wetting the bed must make for an awful lot of washing!! Lovely though your eldest lets it dry in!!

I have worked it out that my 6 yr old has wet herself over the last 8 months about every 8/10 weeks.

I dont think she drinks alot after 6pm but think I will stop her drinking at all after 6.30pm.
