Woman has just punched my son

My son came in with tears in his eyes a few minutes ago and a red mark on his face. Turns out he had a run in with a neighbours son (same age, 10) and threatened to punch him next time he saw him going to shop on his own the kid then went running in to his mum and told her what DS had said and she came out giving DS loads and saying he was the kind of kid that would end up in prison by the time he was 18 and she also said he and his friends were the reason another neighbour moved recently.

DS then retaliated and called her a fat ugly cow and said he was going to set their cat on fire she told him she was coming around to tell me what he'd said and would be reporting him to the police and ds said "go on then, I'll put your fucking windows through" so she said to him "come here and shout your mouth off, you think you're so big and clever" and so DS did and she grabbed hold of him and smacked him across the face (he said she punched him, she admits she slapped him, not punched). DS then tried to kick her and her husband came out and starting saying to his wife "keep him there, I'll knock his cocky fucking head off" and she then pushed DS over full force so he actually fell into the road and told him to "fuck off".

Obviously I went around to see what the hell has been happening and she said she pushed him away because if her husband had got a hold of him he would've killed him!

I KNOW ds is not innocent in this but to actually punch someone elses kid? Would I be over-reacting to report this to the police?

i think it would be over reacting

i think you need to talk to him and the neighboiurs

separately

Your son was going to beat another boy up, called someone a fat ugly cow, threatened to set fire to their cat and and then break their fucking windows?

I think the slap to the face is the least of your boy's problems.

How old is DS

(envisages 18yr old lad speaking to neighbours like that)

If you report it then neighbours will just retaliate with a counter accusation and this is likely to end up going nowhere TBH.

OMG just seen your DS is 10. Frankly I don't know anymore what I find more shocking. Not the response you want I'm sorry.

Well I thought that too Countess but you never know.

Frankly if your 10-yr old son called me a fat ugly cow, threatened to put my fucking windows through and kill my cat, I'd punch him too!

There is no excuse in hitting a child, but I would have been livid if any child had spoken to me or my child as your DS has done here!

Maybe if you do call police they will give your DS a strong talking to & shake him up a bit, as it sounds like he has temper issues. Depends if you want to get along with these people in the future - would it escalate into neighbour warfare?

Has he been involved in any trouble like this before?

God, I read that as pinched my son!

Neighbours are out of order but so is your son tbh.

I think if a neighbours child spoke to me like that I would probably smacked them, my ten year old would NEVER EVER EVER speak to someone like that, I would take a long hard look at your parenting coz it is not normal behaviour for a ten year old.

I would certainly not report it to the police, as you and your son will not look good!!

he sounds a right tearaway

presumably he has issues at school etc too?

If this is for real you need to get some professional help for your son. 10 is awfully young to threaten and abuse other people. Where could all this aggression be coming from?

Is anyone else wondering if there will ever be an end to the school holidays and - hopefully - this kind of thread? Hollowhead has had some lovely posts recently!

I hope this isn't actually real.

Because if your 10 year old son called an adult a fat ugly cow, said he was going to set her cat on fire, and threatened to put her "Fucking" windows through, then he sounds emotionally disturbed.

Do you live in a very violent neighbourhood where this sort of behaviour has become normalised? Is he okay?

Report
CountessDracula · 28/08/2008 18:13

I certainly don't condone the violence visited on your son

However he sounds like he should be in borstal not roaming the streets threatening children and women

zippitippitoes · 28/08/2008 18:15

hopefully he doesnt exist but if he does then in ref to another thread i wouldnt give him the key to the house

We do live in a rough area and DS has had his fair share of kickings and has given a few, its just what they do.

I have spoken to him and told him off but I think she was out of order to even start on him in the first place. The argument was between the kids, its pathetic for adults to get involved.

He didnt mean it about the cat and kids always threaten to put windows through but they never mean it. He has been in trouble at school but so are his friends quite a lot. I cant keep him in and not let him talk to anyone just cos a few neighbours have taken a dislike to him.

DH will rip her husbands head off when he comes home. It will all kick off and we'll be the ones looking like a rough family again.

if your child had verbally threatened me, my family and my cat I would report him to the police.

hopefully they will visit you soon and give you some guidance

perhaps you could ask social services for help?

hollowhead you are the reason people move houses.

nyone else thinking trop trip trop???(troll)

Report
sagacious · 28/08/2008 18:18

Yes you can keep him in
Threatening to put in windows is not normal behaviour.
If you are looking like a rough family again then its obvoiusly not the first time.

If you are looking for sympathy for your son you're really not getting it here.
