Would I be a bad mum?

DD (7mo) is playing on the floor with all her toys and wanted a biccie so I've cleaned the floor with disinfectant wipe (as her highchair) and was gonna give it to her there?

I was always brought up on a little dirt won't hurt you.

i wouldnt even have bothered with the disinfectant tbh

soap and hot water is good enough

no, put a blanket down, sit her on it, have her lunch - picnic on the floor.

actually this is one of my pet hates

the use of antibiotics, anti bac wipes etc, has single handedly been to blame for the rise of mrsa, vre and c diff

please stop using it

unless you are planning on performing surgery on your kitchen floor or the highchauir it is NOT necessary

ask any infection control nurse or microbiologist

just realised-since 2 weeks ago weve not been able to use either our dining table or coffee table as a hornby train set is living on dinning table waiting for its own place and a thomas tank track is living on coffee table waiting for me to move it i am a bad mum!

mummy shouts-lets have picnic on the floor again

once they get to playing on the floor they happily shove their hands in their mouths whilst they're playing anyway, or pick up toys from the floor and give them a good slobbering - disinfecting is obv good practise, but don't beat yourself up if you don't manage it...

you have washed her hands...

Oh my word, is she your first?
My daughter regularly has a picnic on the kitchen floor, loves it. But haven't cleaned the kitchen floor for about 3 months. She's not dead.

Its DP who insists on all the anti bac stuff.

Actually NP - I agree. He was raised in a spotless (untidy - lol) house with disinfectant everything and he has LOADS of stomach bugs now.
I was playing in the mud at about 2 and I'm fine. lol

Try explaining that to him though!! lol

Mind you (dont' tell DP) we're getting 2 foster dogs sometime soon (JRT's) and I don't plan to hoover anymore!! LMAO

Slowly sneaks back out the door as not cleaned kitchen floor for ages and regularly picks up food from it and gives to DDs. They have made it to 8 & 4 so no fatal illnesses yet

i do object (slightly) when they extend their floor responsibilities to the dcs faces tho... although not enough to get out of the armchair, obv...

Can I train my cats to clean the floor? One does a good job of the breakfast bowls. Will it be the same on the kitchen floor?

LMAO - I used to live like that. Mum would giggle saying its obviously time for your bath then and i'm still alive.

Although I will stop these 2 from doing it cos she's so young. Maybe when she gets to like 2or3 and can get away from the licking if she wants to! Lol

Well she's just devoured a organix rusk and a bourbon (she stole off me - I'm not eating within reach again) now I need to clean the floor, her, most of her toys. lol - messy woman

we had one dog when dd1 was born - on the first midwife visit to the house after hosp discharge, she had extremely naked dd across her lap having a good look at her, when the dog burst in through the patio doors and slobbered mud all over pfb's poor little head. fortunately the midwife saw the funny side but i was completely mortified, after all the bollocks sanitary advice during antenatal classes.
dd1 is still with tho. didn't get taken into care or anything.
