pain relief and teething - how much is too much???

My DD (nearly 10 months) has been teething for months. I can see the tip of the white in two of them but no actual teeth yet. She has also had a cold and cough for months, mostly due to a big brother at pre school and I think the teething is adding to the congestion/runny nose. It was all fine until a few nights ago, when she just wouldn?t settle to sleep and would wake several times in the night. This has now become a pattern. I?ve tried cuddles, feeds and teetha but the only thing that would settle her was/is nurofen or medised. I?m just wondering how much pain relief you would feel comfortable with for a baby of this age and for how long??? Thanks

Medised I personally wouldnt use, its also now not recomened for under age 2.

Nurofen, Calpol or teething powders/gel I would use if the tooth was causing pain but only for 48 hours or the recommended time it states on the bottle. Give your HV a call and ask her advice.

Thanks Happy Mummy - I will do. I heard that about medised - it was the one that was recommended when my DS was teething 2 years ago and now it's not at all! Mad!
