ils retrouvent peu a peu le calme apres tant d'emotion
"vraiment ce n'est pas facile d'elever des enfants"dit Babar
"mais comme ils sont gentils
je ne saurais plus m'en passer"

i think it helps too that its in french even more soothing...........

found this in one of the Babar story books we got from the library on holidays

Il est sage Babar.

do I know you well enough to say you are an utter ponce without you getting huffy, hermykne?

You could at least translate it! I've got most of it but the last line defeats me....

Why don't you translate it, or are you just trying to impress us?
The last line stumped me too.

"Truly it is not easy to raise children" said Babar, "But as they are nice/lovely, I will let it go/wash over me/accept it"

surely someone can translate better - I can get the gist i think but finding it hard to literally tranlate the last line aswell.

Google translate says

they found a little bit of calm after so much emotion
"This really is not easy to raise children," said Babar
"but as they are nice
I can not pass over me "

which is obv not quite right!

And thence to the game of sending it through several languages in the translator and seeing what comes out when you get back to English

They found that little of the peace, after so much sense
"It is not easy in the upbringing of their children, said:" Babar
"But because they are beautiful
I can not talk about me "

I sound like I need a calming mantra, don't I? Well, maybe I'll have one when this is translated!

Any other french speakers? Anna8888?
