why is it, you lose a child (well, they go to beavers/friends etc), and the house becomes peaceful.......just on the loss of one???

tis most weird.

well, I have in fact lost two, DS2 is at beavers, DD2 is at the pics with her mate who is going on hols tomorrow((lucky girl, off to cubashockenvy)).

so, two down, feels like all five.

very strangehmm

of course, the aliens have still to return my original models........these versions have been weird for a while!

Psychomum5 Mon 07-Jul-08 18:28:25

no one else gets confused then???hmm

forevercleaning Mon 07-Jul-08 18:29:42

often thought the same. If 1 has gone out, doesnt matter which one, there is peace and quiet!

peanutbutterkid Mon 07-Jul-08 18:30:06

Peace? What's that?

No, actually, it's losing a particular one in our case -- the 4yo -- that creates peace.

4yo in=chaos.
4yo out=peace.

Psychomum5 Mon 07-Jul-08 18:30:40

so it does happen in other house then!!!

posieflump Mon 07-Jul-08 18:31:00

oh yes I find one much easier than 2 sometimes
we often divide and conquer at weekends smile

Flamesparrow Mon 07-Jul-08 18:31:55

Just losing DS makes all the difference here

Psychomum5 Mon 07-Jul-08 18:32:27

oh, I do like the 'devide and conquer' idea.

not sure DH would feel the same, as I would ensure he gets the grumpiest more tired ones!

ByTheSea Mon 07-Jul-08 18:38:17

It is a bit easier with any one of my DC out of the equation, but take DS2 out and it's pure bliss.

RubberDuck Mon 07-Jul-08 18:39:43

Hmm... mine don't work like that. 2 together entertain each other. 1 on their own whines that they're bored.

if dd2 goes its heaven
shes 3 and exceedingly independent

I can cope with dd1 whos 8 and gecko who is 17 months together but chuck the three year old in and all hell breaks loose

Psychomum5 Mon 07-Jul-08 19:11:34

lol trinity!

I still have peace, it is really odd.

enjoying it tho. A friend just rang, and they didn;t even react to the sonic device I swear goes off at the same time, making them all come ask for choc/ice cream/money etc.

wierd I tell's ya.

cheesesarnie Mon 07-Jul-08 19:13:03

i think its odd.even if its the quietest one missing its so much quiter and easier!it wasnt like that when i only had 2!

Psychomum5 Mon 07-Jul-08 19:15:07

yes.....that is true too......even the quiet one going makes a whole difference.

shame it does not work quite so well when DH goes too...hmm

charliecat Mon 07-Jul-08 19:17:34

mine are like rubber ducks, if I lose one I have one left...standing in front of me whinging. Hate it. Try VERY hard not to be left with one.

Psychomum5 Mon 07-Jul-08 19:19:22

oh, now that is another thread entirely.....I cannot abide just one.

after many siblings, one finds me very very boring!!!

or maybe they find me very quiet, and so whine to up the noise levelhmm

cheesesarnie Tue 08-Jul-08 12:04:07

ha ha-thats so true about being left with 1!!!!i call mine my duckilngs as they follow me in a little line like ducklings behind a mummy duck.

charliecat Tue 08-Jul-08 13:23:46

Oh thats so much nicer than what I call mineblush I call them leechesgrin

bluesushicat Tue 08-Jul-08 21:01:16

Enjoy it! - It doesn't happen here - 1 goes out and the other one expands to fill the void (verbally speaking!)

Psychomum5 Wed 09-Jul-08 13:38:04

well.....the peace was certainly shattered last night......I so wish I had appreciated it more monday!!

I do like the 'ducklings'.....mine are my 'shadow'

tummytickler Wed 09-Jul-08 20:44:20

Oh i think i will have to think of mine as ducklings too, maybe then i wont loose my rag when i am falling over them but find them cute!
I agree with the loose one thing too. It is spooky how the whole house is calm. It doesnt matter who goes (i have 4 age 7,5,3 and 11mo), but whoever is left are always getting along brilliantly and playing together, despite the usual constant bickering.
My 3 (well 2.11) year old is adorable but really difficult to handle, she runs riot, into everything hurts her elder and younger siblings etc etc. But as soon as one of them goes she is much nicer. It is soooo weird!
