Crying during the winding and unsettled

Looking for advice or mainly if yours has experienced the same thing and what you did to resolve it? My son is coming up to 10 weeks old and has been expressing a lot of crying when being winded, for example, once he has taken about 2oz from the bottle and is needed to be winded. He will begin to cry and fuss, refusing to be sat on our leg to then be patted on the back to bring up the wind. When he refuses, he will arch his back and try to keep himself straight instead of bent over. He also struggles to bring upwind as well and most of the time brings up his milk when he burps.

This has been happening mostly every feed.

We are using MAM bottles with a 1 teat at the moment.

Does he stop drinking at 2oz or are you taking the bottle out? I ask because I used to wind every 2oz but as my DD got older she started getting angry when I took the bottle away so I started letting her drink more before winding. He might be getting angry because he wants to drink more before being winded.

Could also try a faster teat? If he’s struggling to bring up wind he might have trapped wind from the flow being too slow.

We take the bottle away from him. We take it away because he does like to bring up his milk and we wanted to control that but when he feeds, I do believe he could guts the whole bottle 😂

I'll move over the 2 teats and see how that goes first.

My little boy is 10 weeks old and doing the exact same thing, as soon as we remove the bottle to wind he screams, pushes himself backwards and makes his body stiff as a board, it’s incredibly frustrating particularly because he is quite the windbag!

Yes, it has improved. LO is now 17 weeks old, healthy and just hungry. I've heard it's common for babies to get cry and be frustrated when the bottle is taken away and from my own experience it was kind of the case, just a hungry baby lol.
He does suffer from reflux, which was causing him a bit of an issue as well. Eventually got him on Lansoprazole and C&G Carobel, which have worked wonders for him!
Bring up the wind is still a bit difficult as it is still depending on if he will or won't, but since then it's improved looking back on it.
I was told by a pediatric nurse that babies can mistake hunger to wind pain, and that can cause them to be frustrated and begin to cry when the bottle is taken away because they think they are hungry.
Always found if you stand up and pat them over the shoulder helps calm them down when winding, instead of sitting. Also jiggling a little, like mild bounces to help the air shift on their belly. Or lay them on their belly and pat them on their back but my LO did not like this.

Our LO suffers from silent reflux and is on omeprazole, it was an arduous path to get this diagnosis following multiple distressing choking episodes. We also found out he had a very severe tongue tie which was contributing to the wind and most likely the regurgitation. Thankfully he is doing well of late and loves his milk! Did you find Carobel helpful, has this stopped the posseting? Lately our LO is bringing up milk when he does a large burp and I’m wondering if thickening his feed would help this.

I found the Carobel really helpful and noticed a difference straight away. Gaviscon never helped and it had taken some time for a doctor to get us to this stage. I would always recommend Carobel, but every baby is different.
Noticed the Carobel makes his bowel movement soft to a little runny but it never bothered us.
Also, when you mix it in you can notice the thickness after a minute or two and it is thick - use a two teat.
