Help - 1 year old with a cold will not sleep

Just that.

She slept 7pm - 9:45pm and has been awake ever since. Given her medicine, cleared her nose, gave her some more milk, a cuddle but as soon as I put her in her cot she starts screaming.

I’m tired.

Put her in bed with you and cuddle.

@Thesearmsofmine unfortunately doesn’t work with her. We’ve never coslept and every time I’ve tried she just thinks it’s a game and plays 🤨

Accept now that you aren't sleeping tonight properly (sorry). Set your bed up so that she can sleep safely with you and cross your fingers that you get 3 -4 straight hours at some point.

You can give both ibuprofen and paracetamol if things get dire. If she has a stuffy nose a hottish washcloth and a good clean/squeeze of her nose to clear snot can work wonders.

But if she's feeling poorly she probably most just wants you close by.

But tonight is another night.

Children that are change what they like as often as their nappies!

If the choice is between screaming in a cot or playing in your bed,I know which I'd choose. She's not well and needs you to comfort her.
Small children get ill and you lose sleep. It's just how it is. She'll be better soon-just hold on to that.

Run a really hot shower & either sit in there with her or get in the shower with her (her not under the water) the steam really helps.

I used to put baby's head on my chest & their bottom/legs on bed so they were upright but I wasn't. If bedsharing really won't work for you can you raise the head end of the cot?

Flowers colds at this age are a total PITA

Thank you everyone for the advice.

Cosleeping has never worked for us unfortunately, even when she’s not feeling good.

I will try the shower thing today, hopefully helps her. I put a humidifier in the room last night which helped. She then slept from 12:30 until 6:30.
