Just marking my place for the future.

Sleep regression is in full swing in this household. My LO has gone from sleeping 9.30pm til 7am to going to sleep at 9.30ish, waking up at 1.30am wanting a feed, 4am just having a cry and wanting a cuddle and then 6.30am wanting a feed he then sleeps till 9.30am. It's been like clockwork for the past 3 nights and seems to be his new pattern :( I guess I should be grateful that he sleeps in his own cot at least.

We've been waking every 2-4 hours for food and that's the best it's ever been! Roll on 6 months

I feel for you @Anotherboy, hopefully it will improve. Managed to get mine in bed for 8.30 today, he had more milk than usually too. Hopefully this will have a positive effect on tonight's sleep- we shall see!

Hi all 👋🏻 we've been all over the place with sleep recently. She went from sleeping through 6 or 7 hrs which she'd done from 6 weeks old, to waking at 2am or 3am for a feed, to waking at 5am just because and now the past 2 nights she's slept straight through 9 hours! Daytime naps are either non existent or 2hrs long and her feeds have dropped down a bit too. We spoke to the health visitor who said anything goes at this stage and as long as she's generally happy, not running a fever and is filling nappies, not to worry.

Just marking my place too.

My little one is 15 weeks today. Looks like he's teething the amount of dribble and chomping he doing. Point blank refusing to napn in the day and awake every 3 hours overnight 😴 however he has never gone longer than 4 hours since he was born so I have no idea whether we are in a sleep regression or just his habit.... clueless

Hi, would love to join the thread! My LO is 21 weeks old and a bit of a teething nightmare at the moment! Daytime naps are pretty much non existent. It takes me longer putting him to sleep than how much he actually sleeps.

In the night he's waking up every four hours still... and with teething it's even sooner and crying. Nearly laughed out loud the other day when we saw the nurse for his jabs and she asked if he's sleeping through. I anxiously await the day we get some decent sleep!

I'm sure mine is teething too, he's 4 months and the amount of dribble is unreal. When I ot the bottle in his mouth for a feed, he loves to chew on the teat.

He had a better sleep last night, asleep for 8.40pm, woke for a feed at 2am and then slept till 7.50am! 😊

Marking my place in the chat...

LO is 13 weeks tomorrow and all is going well. Dreading the impending sleep regression and hoping we manage avoid it but we will see. Highly unlikely 😅

Thank you for continuing with the thread!

Lo is 17 weeks and a few nights ago went from sleeping 7/8-5/6 to waking at 2 for a feed, I'm exhausted as not used to this at all now. He also refuses to go back to sleep once up at 5/6 so days are feeling very long. Luckily he's still going to bed between 7 and 8, but I'd rather him go a bit later and sleep a bit longer. Was hoping we'd avoided sleep regression but it doesn't seem that way 😩

Has anyone else found that the 4 month regression has affected how much their LO drinks? He used to have a bottle every 3 hours and was drinking 6oz dry - we were thinking of upping him to 7oz but past week or so he is only having 3/4oz per feed. He is still feeding every 3 hours but I feel like his lack of eating during the day is affecting his sleep.

Hi just jumping on the thread again ...my baby girl was 5 months on 1st April. The 4 month sleep regression was brutal for us, it started early and it lasted a whole 6 weeks she was up loads through the night, some nights every hour which was soooo difficult as she had been a great wee sleeper up until that point! Thankfully we are through it now and she's back to only waking once in the night, I'm hoping she starts sleeping through once she's on solids at 6 months. Hang in there those if you going through it, it will get better xx

Hi all. Couldn't get on the new thread for a while...
Sleep OK here. Tired around 7/8pm and goes down for the night.
After the hour went forward, she decided a 5 am chat would be good...🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️... this happened 3 mornings.
Last couple of days, she's slept until 7/8am ish.
She will have a little moan some nights, but tends to find her thumb, suck at it super noisily lol and goes back to sleep. So on the whole, it's all good.
We are usually 5 6oz feeds a day. Night feeds have long stopped. She's showing a real interest in food... watching me eat my breakfast. Bless. Roll on ....

My baby is now 4months. She usually sleeps 11-6.30 so I can’t complain just she will not really go down for a daytime nap unless she’s asleep in my arms after feeding or if out in pram will sleep or will lie with eyes open but not crying.

Hi @Pinktruffle. Yes, our little girl dropped down slightly on her feeds, from 6-7oz to 3-5oz. We spoke to the health visitor who said it's normal at this stage and they can sometimes halve their total daily feed and its still OK!

Jellycat2020 · 05/04/2021 11:41

@Jwl45 when you put yours to bed at 7/8pm, do they go to sleep upstairs then you come back downstairs or is one of you staying up there with them? I want to start bringing our little girl's bedtime forward but not sure on the logistics of it x

Pinktruffle · 05/04/2021 11:53

@Jellycat2020 thank you, that's really good to know, I've not seen or spoken to health visitor in months so never think to ask them!

My sons bedtime has been brought earlier to 8/8.30. I tend to stay upstairs with him once he goes to sleep and will read till I'm ready for bed or get other 'me time' things done. I don t feel confident enough to leave him yet, but I want him in the pattern so once he is a bit older, I can leave him and DH and I have our evenings back.

Jwl45 · 05/04/2021 15:01

@Jellycat2020 she's shattered by about 7/8 pm.... if she has a bottle, she will go to sleep on that. We leave her downstairs then with us (she's usually on the sofa next to one of us and cushions around the outside so that she's safe) and take her up when we go. We put her in the sleeping bag upstairs at that point and straight into her crib. She is still in our room at the moment.

Last few nights she has actually gone to sleep without her last feed and sleeps through until around 7am /8am .
I've never bought a monitor with any of my girls so have never put them upstairs as babies until we go up. X

Hi guys. So happy I found this new thread. How is everyone getting on? My LO is 14 weeks now in the throws of the 4th leap. Can u I ask. He seems to be having full on screaming fits, he won't go to anyone other than myself and my husband.. not even my parents who He has seen weekly. Did anyone else's baby do this?? Please tell me it gets better?? I feel like my life is over currently.

Tommy turned 4 months on the 2nd, we've been going through the sleep regression phase for a couple of weeks now, we had 1 good night & thought that was it but no.....
He tends to go to bed around 7pm, wakes for a feed around 10pm & 2am, then wide awake around 7am. He has at least 3 naps in the day, anywhere from 30 to 60 mins, he tends to sleep longer when being held, or out in the pushchair or car.
We had a couple of really awful days where he literally refused to feed in the day, going up to 8 hours between feeds, then waking every 2 hours at night hungry!! I'm glad he's no longer doing that.

@Jellycat2020 I go up with Tommy, then about 30 mins after he's fallen asleep I go downstairs & catch up with the cleaning for 30-60 mins, we use the baby monitor to keep an eye on him. His teenage brothers are always upstairs too so they'd also be able to hear him (all doors open), its the only chance I get to get any proper cleaning done.

@Nic2908 my LO is happy to be held by anyone, luckily! We've been in a bubble with MIL, FIL, SIL & niece (1 household) so between us, them & his brothers he's seen plenty of people. My other niece who was born during the 1st lockdown is painfully shy, she literally hides when she sees other people.

@Kj1010 what foods have you tried with your LO? I don't think we'll be weaning for a while yet, he's barely interested in his milk let alone food. He's the complete opposite to his brother, he was insatiable & we ended up weaning him early, he loved his food. Tommy was referred to the hospital when his milk allergy was detected, were still awaiting an appointment, he'll be seeing a dietitian & having allergy tests, etc, so I won't be attempting any weaning until after the appointment.
