(11 Posts)Hi all
My son 8 had a loose tooth which has been bothering him for quite a while. This morning it has fallen off but a quarter of it is still stuck in the gums. Is this something which will fall off after a while or should we be contacting the dentist. Any thoughts / advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.
Are you sure its a bit of the old tooth and not the new one coming through? Is the tooth itself broken?
The baby tooth root normally gets absorbed as the adult tooth comes in. What does the tooth that came out look like?
The one which came out definitely looked like it was missing a part. Because when I compare it to the ones which fell earlier on it's missing a bit.
Can you post a picture?
I imagine the adult tooth will both push the root out the way and absorb it as its supposed to
Maybe call the dentist for advice too
You can see that the bit of old tooth is still
Present
I meant a picture of the tooth that came out
Apologies @dementedpixie I meant to
Post this. The bit of tooth which was sticking to the gum has now come off.
Thats good. Glad it came out by itself. The adult tooth would have pushed it out eventually anyway
