Start using Mumsnet PremiumWake windows for 8 month olds - does this sound right?
(5 Posts)My DS is almost 9 months old. His wake/sleep routine tends to be something like:
7am: wake
9.30am-11am: nap
2.30-3.15pm: nap
7pm: bed
So the longest amount of time he stays awake is about 3 hours 45 minutes. Does that sound about right or is 3 hours 45 too long?
Sounds pretty good, although the afternoon nap isn't very long.
When I worked with babies that age they normally fell into 2-3-4 pattern, so:
7: wake
9-10: nap
1-3: nap
7: bed
Mine is the same age. His awake windows are anything from 2 to 4 1/2 hours. Depending on how good he sleeps overnight and how long each nap is. Some days he has three short naps, sometimes two
Pretty similar to my 9 month olds daily routine!
It sounds pretty normal to me, but more importantly, is he generally reasonably happy when he's awake, and does he usually go down for naps and bedtime relatively easily? If so, I'd say the wake windows are right for him.
