From formula to cows milk

Can any fellow mamas please help me

I've been trying to get through to my health visitor and I cant!!

Sometimes my daughter has an 8 oz bottle in the morning and afternoon sometimes she doesnt want it but she gets all her calcium from other foods, but she always has a bottle before she goes to bed and will usually have one in the night and sometimes even two, my question is when I move her onto cows milk does she have 8oz before bed? And in the night? And does it have to be from a beaker and not a baby bottle? Xx

Ideally from a cup, not a bottle, because a bottle is bad for the teeth and she needs to learn to sip, not suck. She also needs to effectively develop the muscles in her mouth in order to learn to speak and develop her speech. The longer she drinks from the bottle, the more of a habit it will become. We didn’t transition to a cup straight away, as we felt the transition to cows milk was a big enough change at the time and my DS needed more milk than a sippy cup could hold. Once it reduced, I made the change and he was fine.
When she starts drinking cow’s milk, it’s natural that the total volume of milk consumption will go down so she might not need a drink in the night.

Once ds turned one I started mixing his bottles of formula with cows milk so he slowly got used to the taste. Every few days an ounce less of formula and an ounce more of milk in the bottle until he was fully on cows milk for his morning and evening milk. Took just over a month I think. I also didn't switch from bottle straight away, I got him used to cows milk on its own first then dropped the bottle in the day to a cup so he only had a bottle before bed and a month later got him on a cup. I've always found a gradual transition for everything works so much easier.
