If we assume I've done everything as hygienically as possible, and that bacteria isn't the cause, can freezing breast milk cause diarrhoea at all? I'm just trying to rule it out as my 10 week old baby had expressed milk for 2 feeds today for the first time whilst I was out. This afternoon he's had 4 very watery nappies and the last one was green. I think the most likely explanation is CMPA/dairy intolerance, as I've been dairy free for 12 days due to a very gassy unsettled baby, mucousy nappies and spotty rashy face (which have all improved since other than the mucousy nappies but he did have his rotavirus vaccine 10 days ago). Some of the milk was expressed before I went dairy free, so I think it might be that, although he never had diarrhoea with it before. He never really cries in discomfort, other than when he is tired in the evenings and unsettled on the breast as he is trying to pass gas/poo but I wouldn't say he screams like colic symptoms. I had some yoghurt with breakfast and milk in my tea because I thought I'd reintroduce dairy to see if he reacted to it seeing as the expressed milk would contain dairy anyway. Does this sound like CMPA and should I be speaking to the doctor about it? I mentioned his symptoms at his 8 week check and she said I could trial dairy free but didn't really say much otherwise. Any similar experiences/advice?
