Baby has only slept for 15 minutes this afternoon

My DS had a good nap this morning from 9.30-11am and was due his second nap at 2pm, while we were out on a walk. He fell asleep just after 2 but 15 minutes later I noticed that his hat had fallen over his eyes and nose! I adjusted the hat but woke him up in the process, and although we continued walking for another hour, he didn't go back to sleep. I got home, gave him a feed and tried to put him to bed, but he wouldn't go down - he just wouldn't sleep and started crying. I don't know what I'm meant to do now - keep him up until his usual bedtime at 7?!!

I'm feeling really low this afternoon - I'm exhausted generally and just want a break Sad The weather and this sodding lockdown aren't helping.

I hate it when they won't nap, so frustrating! But it happens and you can't force it. Go with an earlier bed or he'll get overtired and not want to go to sleep.

My 8 month old did this during the week. Literally would not sleep in the afternoon despite being shattered. Then had to do the school run and even then he was wide awake. In the end he was up from 12.30 until 6.30 (that was not my idea of fun). Although today he ended up napping until 4pm then still cried from around 4.30 until 6.30 when we put him to bed Hmm literally cannot win at the moment.
