12 week old is so unhappy

I don't know if anyone has experienced anything similar and could help?

Our little boy is over 12 weeks now and is SO unhappy. When we're at home during the day he just seems to cry unless he's being held or fed

He's an amazing sleeper at night and has slept through from about 9 weeks but during the day he just can't be left!

We thought he was colicky but surely that should be passing by now?

I can't get anything done during the day (and he hates a sling or similar)

Any advice?

Hi. He’s still only tiny. It can’t be anything refluxy I’d say or he wouldn’t sleep at night. Just hang in there for a few more weeks. Do you have any other children? If not, I know it’s hard, but just don’t worry about getting anything done - when you need to shower / toilet, strap him in somewhere safe and let him cry for a minute or too, that won’t hurt him. Good luck x

Sounds pretty normal to me. Many of them want to be held all the time. No, you can’t get anything done, unfortunately. A sling helps, though.

I'm 4 weeks ahead of you and don't have much advice except to say that reflux peaks for some babies around 3-4 months and can last for a year so it could still be reflux...It's hard to get anything done, they need more attention and interaction from you at this age than younger babies. Naps help but it's so hard to get mine to nap in the day! Have you tried a baby gym? I can get a good 10 mins of entertainment out of the kind that plays music when they hit a dangling toy. Also with the sling, have you tried giving it 5-10 minutes before giving up? Mine seems less distressed by the process of putting it on if I kneel close to the ground instead of standing up. But it only works occasionally.
