How many of you have managed to do scrapbooks/photo albums for your kids?

I'm struggling to finish a scrapbook of the first year of my daughters life and I'm really quite behind on doing her photo albums. I feel pathetic but I have so much going on it's hard to get done. I've asked my partner multiple times to help and he says he will but he never does. I also have mental health problems and autism so sometimes I need extra help doing normal tasks. I've actually been feeling quite overwhelmed recently. Can other parents please make me feel better and that I'm not alone in it being able to complete the scrapbooking and stuff etc...I'll get it done eventually! I don't know how Stacey Solomon and Mrs Hinch do it all!

Have to admit I’d hadn’t even thought of doing one - mine is 7m.
I will now add it to my long list of things I will continually fail to do and feel guilty about, including wedding photos (6 years ago) and baby thank you cards....

Don’t feel guilty about it - your kid won’t care!
And it doesn’t mean you love them any less than social media celebrities who have to do these things so they have something to post about as they are cashing in off their children (I genuinely don’t mean this in a harsh way to them, not that they care what I think, we’ve all got make the dollar somehow)

Keep any bit and bobs, you’ve got all the digital photos anyway and promise yourself you will do it when they leave home and you have more time!

My son is nearly 6 and I just finished and ordered photo albums for the last 5.5 years last month.

I havent done a scrapbook but I do have a sort of diary for both DDs. I write in it every 6 weeks or so and tell them what they have been doing. I have done this for both I'd then since I found out I was pregnant, but it's never too late to start, and it seemed less faffier to me than keeping things and sticking things into a scrapbook

We have a memory box (just a normal box with a bit of decor stuck on) and I just chucked in a few bits like hospital tags, first outfits, 1st birthday cards etc. I won't be adding to it now she's over a year.

I didn't do this for DC1, thinking I would remember all her milestones - how could I possibly forget?! Then DC2 and DC3 arrived and guess what? I can't remember which DC did what, when, after all! I still haven't managed to do a scrapbook for any of them, but I do write things down in an old exercise book now. One day, I tell myself, I'll collate the mementos and do a beautiful scrapbook for each of them.

DS just turned one; was I supposed to make a scrapbook? I have about a thousand photos on my phone (backed up obviously) and have kept a few bits and pieces but that's it. I already can't remember when he started crawling/standing up and can only remember the date he sat by himself because I put it on Instagram!

I don’t scrapbook...

I write exciting things/milestones/funny things they say on the calendar & take photos of kids with certificates etc then I make a family photo book every year with the calendar beside me & add comments/notes in the appropriate month.

You know this is just nonsense and they won't care when they are older don't you?

Sorry that sounded a bit harsh, but you are being guilted into something that isn't at all important in the scheme of things. Just enjoy them while they are little and don't fret about scrap books or making memories or any such stuff. In the blink of an eye they grow up and this stuff becomes so much less important.

Was given a personalised scrapbook/notebook thing for both DC. Never used either, it's not my thing. Nothing to feel guilty about.

I just do a few photos every birthday and keep it with all her birthday cards. If you have more kids, you gotta do it for all of them!

I kept meaning to do a photo book of my daughter's first year, but never got round to it. Then I had a tech disaster and lost all my photos, and now don't have anything! So sad about it and cross with myself for not making the album

I got given a nice album and I did print out some photos.
And they're all sitting in a pile in a cupboard.

Cokeenstoke it was actually something called early help that suggested it as our family received extra help due to my extra needs. I did it with them and was left to finish off, otherwise I wouldn't of started one and just done photo albums. It has actually caused more stress than it's worth but once I've started something I feel I have to finish it. I am deffo just gonna do photo albums once it's done.

I do a Photobook each month at the moment t (DD is nearly 3m) - it's free on an app called free photo book. Well 15 pages are free. I've been adding about 50 more and it costs £20. Once she hits a year I'll do annnual Photobooks.

I've added a comment on the pic of her first smile with the date and plan to do the same for any other pics of big milestones

I use an app called freeprints. 45 prints per month and you just pay postage. I have a massive photo album which lasts about six months, so it's a pretty quick job just to slot them all in.
BUT I love photos, look through the albums often with my kids, rotate particularly good pictures onto my photo display board etc - if it's something you're not so bothered about then you don't need it as an extra chore!

Yes they have a photo frame each where it shows 1m, 2m, 3m etc

They both have a 1st birthday photo in a cupcake frame each

1 DD has cake smash photos

They both have a "birthday album" which consists of phtotos of their birthdays on 1 page for each year and includes a photo of them on their birthday and one of their cake and something they did on their birthday, photos stuck onto scrapbook paper with stickers of their age etc
I'm really proud of them. They will go up until they are 21.
Some people would say I have too much time on my hands.......

I don't do a scrap book exactly. I set my daughter up an email address and send her a monthly update with photos and videos of what we have done that month. So far she is 5 months old and I have managed to keep up with it so far!
Not sure when I will give her the password to the account. Probably on her 18th and just have to pray they don't decide to archive gmail...

With DT’s we did photo a day for their first year - it was hard work remembering and then saving the photos. Since then (they are now 21) loads of photos but no organisation. Who has time?

I was going to take DCs every year to a photo booth around their birthday so I could present them with a timeline of their look from 0-21. DS1 is 19 this year. He's had 3 trips to a photo booth, several photos cut to size from whatever photo I could find and several more recent years missing. If you're not careful, years go by and you forget to take photos and videos as they get older.

I do a photobox book for dh christmas present each year. I choose the best pics from the year. It's easy and relatively cheap to do and ds1 loves looking at them!
