(6 Posts)Thank you. She had jaundice for the first 2 weeks but she got the all clear.
Our DD is 6 weeks and sleeps for 6 hours a night now, midwife told me the longest a newborn should go is 5.5 hours so at 5 weeks, I can't see a problem with 6 hours. If you concerned though you could always call your health visitor and just check to put your mind at rest.
She’ll be grand. As PP said, if she’s hungry...she won’t be long in letting you know.
Personally, I would never wake a sleeping baby at night to feed. Unless there are any health issues like jaundice or you have concerns about her feeding in general, I'd just leave her be and enjoy the sleep.
Absolutely fine, if she was hungry she would have woken up and let you know!
My dd is almost 5 weeks old. After a day of being fussy yesterday, refusing to fall asleep and when she napped it was only for a few minutes, I managed to get her to sleep at about 1:30am by swaddling her (very thin cotton swaddle in the heat). She then slept until 7:30am and I had to wake her up to feed. I usually wake her if she goes to 4 hours but I was soo tired I didn't wake up. I'm not sure if its OK? I kind of feel guilty about her going so long without food. She's ff, born 8lb 5 and now above 10lb.
