Start using Mumsnet PremiumBaby & hot car
(5 Posts)I need to go out in about half an hour. Is there anything extra I can do so that baby isn't too hot & uncomfortable in the car?
I can run the air-con while driving, but not in advance as the car is parked on the road so I can't turn it on and leave it unattended.
Baby is only wearing nappy and shorts at the minute, but should I put a t-shirt on in case the straps of the car seat are hot?
Can you bring the car seat in the house.?
Definitely make sure the straps aren't hiot before putting them In it * the buckle * Is usually the hottest/nastiest bit though
It is, at the moment, thankfully a few Degrees cooler here today
Not much use for now, but I bought a clip on pram fan. I clip it to the car seat so its a bit cooler
In future take a white towel into the car so you can drape it over the car seat when unused which prevents it from getting so hot.
I would definitely put a t-shirt on as the straps can rub on their bare skin.
Buy & fit sunscreens for the windows. Too late for today though.
