Long hair + baby

First off I know this is a bit silly and definitely not a 'problem' but I'm curious, how do mums deal with having their long hair down? I have super long hair and it's been up in a ponytail since I had my son 6 months ago but I hate it, I don't feel myself and my hair is my little curtain to hide behind but when it's down I'm hot and the baby pulls it and it ends up looking shit anyway!

Watching with interest. I've had my hair up 24 hours a day for the last four months. It's started to break off where the elastic is, so now I have a sort of second, shorter layer of hair over the top. I'm going to have to make scrunchies to stop it doing that.

Scrunchies.

Gah.

Mines 2 and I still haven't let my hair down!

I got mine all cut off in the end after having it tied up constantly.
Where it was tied, my head hurt, felt bruised and came out in fistfuls.
A short, quick, easy little number.
Had no time, no energy and no interest in how my hair looked, for me it was more comfort & ease.

Probably another 6 months before they grow out of the pulling hair phase

French plaits, I love them. One each side, I can’t do one going down the back.

They last for 2/3 days and look cute with/without makeup, both for walking the dog and any other mumsy activity I do. It doesn’t get pulled or stuck in DCs fingers either like when it’s down.

I have name changed in case my hair is outing 😂

I use this type of hair clip to have it up in a messy bun most of the time. But when bub (now 18mo) isn't actually on me I can take it down and clip the thing to my collar out the way. No breakages and it goes all nice and wavy from the bun 👌

Dd used to wrench it as liked holding things as a newborn, then progressed to ripping it whenever we'd play. Cut my hair off to just below shoulder length and its up constantly now. She did stop for a while but now 8m and starting it again ive noticed🙄

Same as pp! Have the wonderful plastic bands which look like an old telephone cable. Pop hair up when required during the day but rest of the time it is down. With those my hair doesn't kink either.

Mine is past boob length. I've started wearing it down more and at first my 18m old was interested but not anymore. I just find I get too hot as it's really thick

I've only just started wearing mine down again (18 month old) and that's only because I want back to work. It's not long after I get home that it goes back up into a bun with a clip usually like PPs. My son does love my hair down though he looks amazed by it but it just gets in the way (very long below bra strap).
