Toys or activities for 5 year old obsessed with scores/stats/the time

One of my twin boys has a real interest in sports scores and matches. He is my little referee! It's wonderful as he takes after my grandfather who could recite teams and match info well into his 90's.
However, he would sit and watch sport all day if he could and constantly asks to watch it. I'm looking for age appropriate toys with his interest in mind that could wet his whistle without a constant screen as it were!
He can free read and is good with numbers.
Does anyone know of any toys/books/gadgets he might like?

How about a stopwatch, some different balls, cones, a whistle and some top trumps cards? You can get board games of different sports as well eg there's an orchard toys football themed game designed for 5yr olds

Has he played Top trumps? Sounds like it would be ideal for him.
