14 month old not walking

My 14 month old who will be 15 months in two weeks or so still isn’t walking.

Idk if I should be worried. A lot of ppl will look at me funny,
Sometimes one of hurt foot When she walks will point outward. I’m starting to be worried :(

I walk w her all day long holding her arms and letting her walk like that or sometimes using a push toy. She can stand for a couple seconds but gets excited and loses balance a little. I’ve tried letting go when I walk with her and she just immediately falls, I think she gets scared.

Idk wat to do. Anyone have experience w this

My eldest was 21 months when he started walking. We constantly worried and asked in his creche, at the health centre and they all said not to worry and then he honestly just walked! He's 12 now and never had any issues with health etc.

My daughter didn’t walk til 18 months. I was concerned but I was told that it’s perfectly normal and you should only seek medical advice if they are not walking by 2 years old.

It sounds like your baby is making all the right progress so I would not worry at this stage.

You have nothing to be worried about. Babies develop at their own pace, and your daughter is in no way delayed.

Thanks!
A lot of ppl look at me funny when they ask how old she is and realize she isn’t walking so that’s what makes me worry I guess.
She does pull up, she can climb up stairs on her own, bounce, etc.

Hopefully she gets it soon !

I truly think you are seeing reactions that just aren't there. It is very typical for a 14/15 month old not to be walking. She will be running about before you know it.

My DS is 11 months and walking and he literally just made his way to the tv unit when he did it! Out of no where. 15 months is still little. My niece didn't walk until about 20 months. All babies are different. She'll get there in the end. It'll just happen out of no where!

My 22 month old still isnt walking. She's very verbal- chatting, counting, demanding what she wants, doing baby signs etc, but she's been late for all physical milestones. The GP said he's not worried until 2-2.5years and then she might need a hip check and physio to encourage her. At 14 months she was only just crawling but then at 18 months suddenly started cruising of her own accord.

2 eldest children walked at 18 mths, my third at 17 mths. They were content to crawl or cruise until that point

Don't worry, my dd didn't walk until she was 15 months. She never crawled either, just used to roll around. Then one day she just stood up and walked across the living room

Our little one started cruising the sofas at 8 months, we were sure she would walk independently early, she didn't. She held on to us until she was 15 months old, and then just went off and running, it was almost like she wanted to make sure she could do it properly before letting go :) I had lots of comments too, from friends and family as both me and my husband were early walkers apparently! Just try and ignore them and when she does get confident enough to let go let them come round then and try and catch her haha :) xx

My DD crawled at about 8-9 months and couldn't then be bothered to walk until 19 months. I wouldn't worry at 14 months

Another 15 MO walker here, it just clicked one day and she was off! She’s been a pretty confident walker from the off really, I think babies that walk earlier tend to be very unsteady on their feet for a while whereas when they are a bit older once they get going they are pretty stable!

I walked at 19m. My DD walked at 15mo. She was cautious so she would cruise along furniture but not step on her own. When she started walking, she almost never fell. She is still cautious and works up to things physically at 4.

My DS otoh walked at 9m and crashed into the walls or furniture far more! He is an adventurer at heart.

23 months for my DS, he was just lazy! No other concerns and you can't stop him now at almost 3, you would never have known.

Are you sure because you’re worried about it that you aren’t assuming people are giving you funny looks when really they aren’t and it’s completely normal for a 14 month old not to be walking.
My DD started walking between 14-16 months and of the 4 other NCT babies I knew at the time they were all the same, some a bit later and until 18 months health visitors will just say they’ll do it in their own time.

Don't worry. My ds didn't walk until 18 months and by 20 months he was running around constantly, everything is fine. My friend didn't walk until 2 and she's a happy and successful adult. Relax!

FWIW it can be quite stressful when they first start walking so rather than wishing for it to come around quickly, savour and enjoy the time you've got left! Grin

Try not to worry my son didn't walk till he was 17 months its completely normal. I had a few comments off people about him not walking but I just said he's not ready yet, in his own time, Then one day he just did it.

DC1 was 16 months and DC2 was 14 month. A friend's DC was 20 months. They get there in the end, please don't let this worry affect the enjoyment of your baby.

The average age to start walking is 15 months. So sounds like she is absolutely doing fine.

Mine walked at 15 months and at 17 months. The 17 month one started crawling at 5 months - so was literally crawling for an entire year. My dh didn't walk til he was 2. All perfectly normal (though dh was a bit of an outlier for no real reason that he just seems to do things his own way).
