Any activity ideas I can do with my 3 month old to keep him occupied besides putting him in front of the tv

Just let him watch whatever you're doing

Just take him around the house with you as pp has said, let him watch what your doing.

DD loves watching me sort washing or make dinner, give her a sock or spoon to play with she’s happy - what an exciting life we lead!

Have you got a playmat or a bouncy chair?

I have some older children you can 'borrow' to entertain your baby if you would like them!

agree with pp, take him round the house with you. You could also get some of these cards, which are meant to be good at developing dc's eyesight (you put dc on their stomachs or propped with 2 of the cards in front of them, and switch which cards you use everyday).

What everybody else said, just take him where you are and talk to him about what you're doing.
Don't stick him in front of the television.

My 10-week-old seems quite taken with watching the washing machine go round. Also a fan of bashing his baby gym while sitting in his bouncy chair, and staring at one particularly ugly cushion he's become obsessed with. He also has a couple of black and white books he enjoys being shown.

Sapphos That's adorable! I want one... where is it from, if you don't mind?

He just loves laying on the bed holding my hand the only thing that seems to entertain him

Carry them around, chat, sing, dance to the radio, look out of the window, go on lots of walks - I found it relentless in the extreme until she could sit up at 6 months and entertain herself with a treasure basket for a few minutes. The days are long with a small baby and it must be so much worse in lockdown - you have my sympathy!

Oh please don’t put him in front of the tv!

Give him different things to hold if he’s discovered his hands, so different textures, household objects, stuff to chew on (supervised obviously); things to look at like you doing household tasks, brightly coloured toys, my son loved staring at our bookshelf?!, take him on walks and talk to him about what you can see, read stories with him and sing/dance; play with water - mine loved splashing his toes under the tap. Play mat and bouncer are good, plus lots of tummy time with toys and books propped up to keep his attention.

Quite a tricky age.
I found DS was quite happy in the sling watching me potter on with things and being out for long walks

Buy a playmat and put him under that. Itll encourage him to start reaching for the toys that are above him.

My 3 months old has started to try to grab stuff (although he almost always misses. His aim is rubbish)

They recognise and respond to faces, he will
Love just staring at you.
Loads of eye contact, funny faces, copying his sounds, singing to him, chatting, peekaboo games. Swaying to music. Sparkly materials, mirrors, noisy toys and crinkly books.
Baby massage is brilliant- YouTube is great for instructions
You can try a play mat/ gym/ bouncer. Sling is brilliant and you can potter and chat away. Lots of walks.

They absolutely do not need TV! This is the time when you get to watch your TV!!

3 months old definitely do not need tv! Or entertainment. Some toys in a playmat and take him with u around the house whilst u do whatever you need to do! Tv for a baby is mental

@Cherrytangfastic it's a Mothercare safari playmat and Lamaze octotunes. The playmat was a gift and is quite old now but lots of similar on Amazon. Both DC have spent many happy times in there.

I can also recommend the lamaze robot. My son grins every time he looks at it

My 3 month old currently loves her play mat, she can grab the longer toys dangling down and kicks away which makes bells rattle & shakers shake! She’s happy on there for a good 30 minutes! Otherwise, talking to her, singing, looking out the window (this is a good occupier while in her bouncy chair), watching me in the shower keeps her amused for ages which is win win! .. walk in the pram, take her bouncy chair outside to watch the clouds .. I’ll admit DD2 does end up being entertained by the telly for short periods as it’s on for DD1 so I can’t avoid it. My elder daughter watched no TV as a baby, I was all strict first parenty at that point 😂 way more chill with the second!
