My 4 week old is opening her bowels maybe once a day sometimes twice but she seems like she tries to go a lot more than that... by the noises and the faces she pulls, she seems constipated but this has been happening the past few weeks? The poo's she has can be very large and take her ages to get it all out. They sometimes start of solid and then finish soft? Just seems like she's constipated but it's been ages.. wasn't sure if this was normal as her body is still getting use to the milk.

My little boy has been like this. The HV told me it’s part of them getting used to digestion 🤷‍♀️ He’s poos are also similar to what you describe. It has got less grunty now he’s 8 weeks but it’s still very obvious when he’s going!

DD was a proper grunter until about 14 weeks (9 weeks adjusted) - as PP said, it's just them getting used to digestion. Look up infant dyschezia. I've heard it can be worse in prem babies as the digestive system is one of the last things to develop.

Infacol is to relieve trapped wind. Its not for constipation.

Yes but she does also have trouble getting her wind up sometimes.

So the infacol is for the wind then. Your post is about constipation - has it gotten better over time? If your baby is getting used to the milk then you'd expect it to get gradually better
