Start using Mumsnet PremiumBest formula for sicky baby
(5 Posts)My little one is 5 weeks old and formula fed. She is a very sicky baby and is sick after every feed, sometimes a lot sometimes just a little. She's also sick in between feeds to.
She does struggle a little with getting her wind up as well and fusses after her feed, think this is one of the reasons she's sick after from moving around fussing.
Apart from that she's fine.
Was wondering if anyone could recommend a formula to help with the sickness. I don't want to give her anything that will make her constipated, she struggles already when trying to go.
Thanks
it might be worth trying goats milk formula? you can read about the difference between it and cows milk here, and can get some here. Try to keep your baby upright (for at least an hour) after feeding – this should help keep the milk down.
have you talked to your gp also? They'll be able to give you practical advice on how to ease the symptoms and manage it.
all the best x
Could be signs of a cows milk allergy. My baby is 9 weeks old and has just been diagnosed with an allergy so is on prescription milk. My baby wasnt sick but showed other signs, cough, blocked nose, rash, eczema etc. Sick is the main one.
I wouldnt swap any milk just yet but I would seek advice from your doctor asap and explain your symptoms and demand to have none cows milk formula. It's very expensive so they are very hesitate to prescribe it. Refuse to leave or start crying. Worked for me. The milk my baby is on is 40wuid for 400 its ridiculous.
Dont take no shit
Good luck x
