Help! Peanut app??

So basically, I moved to a new area over a year and a half ago, and desperate for some mummy friends. I’m in a very happy relationship but I am so very lonely in the days. I’ve felt like this for a long time so I’ve recently decided to get on peanut, and I’m sceptical about using it! I think I’m just hoping to hear some good news stories about it? If anyone has any?

I've not heard of this app before but what about attending baby and mother groups to meet new people?

I have been using it as I moved to a new area while heavily pregnant and didn't know anyone. I haven't met up with anyone 1:1 but have found it useful for finding out about groups and meeting people there. E.g if I chat to someone on there I normally ask what groups they go to, and then go along and chat to them there. In that sense it has been useful, because sometimes at baby groups it can be hard to just strike up conversation if people seem to all know each other already, so at least it gives you a reason to speak to them.

A lot of people on there kind of start up a chat which doesn't go anywhere, and I think most people are reluctant to meet up with a stranger 1:1 in case they don't get on, but meeting at groups seems to be the way forward from my experience.

Just saw the date and obviously Covid quickly put a stop to meeting up at mother and baby groups after your post OP.

Any luck with Peanut?

I am also in a new area, first baby and would like to meet new mum's but finding the app a challenge. Does anyone know what happens if you match? Does it tell you?

As far as I can tell its a bit like Tinder for mummy friends. You have to really commit to it to find anything that'll stick.

I didnt have that much luck with it tbh

I've met and made a really good friend through peanut, you can send a message without matching I always did. There is another app called Mush as well

I've been using peanut since I first found out I was pregnant, I unfortunately had a miscarriage and that shattered my world.
I found a great support and network of women on peanut who have been through the same thing and I've connected with people who are going through the same thing.
This is been a serious help for me and so happy to have a place like peanut to share those things

Can anyone give me tips on what to say on peanut messages? It feels like an unnatural award thing to do but I really want to try to make some friends?
