Night time potty training?

What age were your dc's dry at night? Dd1 potty trained at 2 and a half but we didn't stop putting night time nappies till she was 4. We did it the summer before she started school so she was 4.3. She had 3 accidents in the first 10 days and has been completely dry ever since. She potty trained really quickly and in hindsight she was probably ready to go dry at night loads earlier.
Dd2 turned 3 just before Christmas and is mostly potty trained. She's struggling a bit more than her sister did but is doing ok. Not sure at all now when we should start night time training!

My DS was dry at night almost immediately after he trained. So just before 3. We did keep him in night time pull ups for a few months as we were going on holiday, but once we were back from that I ditched them.

He also has 5 year old friends still in them at night and I don’t think anyone is too concerned. There seems to be a wide range of normal

Thanks that's reassuring.

You cant night train, it is a process dependant on the development of a hormone, Aged 9 is not unusual

I know it's about the hormone but looking back dd1 was clearly only going in her nappy at night because it was there if you see what I mean. So not sure how to tell when they're ready.

When their nappy is dry every morning for a set amount of time. I went with 6 weeks.

But dd1s nappy was always wet. Turned out she just hadn't considered the option of getting up Grin

Maybe talk to her about not seeing in her nappy when she is awake.

We used to take my DS to the toilet around 10/11pm when we went to bed. Mostly because he would wake up around 2am and cry for the toilet, rather than he would wet the bed. I have friends that did it though to help with bed wetting.

My one friend wanted to try it with her 4 year old, but said that her DS bed/pull up was already soaked by that time so she knew he wasn’t ready to go without. So you could try that first and see if it helps?

We did it when he was still in pull ups and then kept going for a while once we stopped them. After a few months we stopped and he either sleeps through or just gets himself up in the night to pee and goes straight back to bed. He’s 4.5 now
