Would anyone recommend a SnuzPod?

Hi all! Looking for some advice please...

We're expecting our first baby in Jan and have started buying bits here and there. We started looking at cribs for our bedroom, but are struggling a little. Our room is quite small so the gap between the bed and wall isn't massive, but we do have quite a high bed. After researching, I know the SnuzPod 3 will fit well and it seems to have very good reviews, but it is quite pricey!

I don't mind spending the money really, because we've saved quite a bit on most of the other bits by getting hand downs and shopping the sales. I just wondered if anyone had one and would recommend, or if they're maybe not worth the money? And if anyone else could maybe suggest an alternative? I was thinking of a moses basket and stand, but have heard so many people saying their babies didn't like the moses basket... It seems there are so many options out there, just wanted some opinions please 🙂

It’s a lot of money for a short time but it was worth it for the ease of use

None of my babies would sleep in a Moses basket though

You can try to get one 2nd hand but just change the mattress. Most of them are only 4-5 months old anyway!

Really liked mine - reassuring to be able to co sleep and know they have their own space too so you won't squash them. We're reusing ours for baby 2 so getting our money's worth.

I loved my snuz pod , we brought a full sized cot for ds but couldn’t get him even lay in it out of pure desperation we got a snuz pod.
Lovely size great for just sliding baby in after a feed, has a tilt option for those colicky babies or you can rock away ... if you wanted a 2nd hand one I have seen them go as cheap as £20 on Facebook for sale sights ... the material around the snuz pod I reckon you could clean a new mattress and voila.
Regardless the investment was well worth it

Sometimes I would lay with my head in there until he went to sleep then come out zip it up and turn over that’s as much co sleeping as I was brave to do ( basically didn’t sleep) x

I think it’s worth it personally! Great having baby at arm’s reach, more or less on the same level. If money is tight, you could look into getting a Snuzpod 2 second hand (with new mattress). I’d do that over a Moses basket.

The 2 is a bit narrower but perhaps that might suit your setup. I had a 2 and found the width fine, though would have liked the option to tilt it for reflux, which I gather the 3 has. (I just put a thin book under one end)

I used one, it doesn't last very long if your baby is big like mine was. Its not very wide.
It's convenient for breastfeeding and looks lovely.

I am expecting my second and my friend is currently using the snuzpod so I bought a babylo cozi sleeper, which had good reviews. It's £90 at Smyth's so quite a bit cheaper than the snuzpod.

Kitting out the snuzpod adds to the expense, the sheets, mattress protector etc are pricey

I was looking into this and was told by Mothercare that it would be cheaper to put in a cheap pram with a carrycot attachment instead - apparently almost all carrycots are designed for overnight sleeping up to 6 months. I think we’ll opt for that and pay for a snuzkot for when the baby is a bit older

Loved ours just for the fact it lasted longer than a moses basket. I will say that we rarely used the bed part without the stand as it was just to heavy and clumsy to move around but they market them with that as a selling point. Also it didn't really rock on the base but I think that was more down to our carpet!

@MumApr18 Snuzpod is a bedside cot, not one of the sleep positioners refereed to in that article.

OP they’re really great, love ours, but agree get one second hand if you can - the snuzpod3 is significantly wider so lasts longer.

@MumApr18 - the snuzpod is a crib not a pod or nest. It come with a firm mattress

Oh I stand corrected! Reading with interest as I was looking at the next2me for DC2 on the way but this looks good....

MumApr it’s a flat mattress crib not a nest or pod like the sleepyhead. Are you thinking of something else due to name?

Absolutely loved mine. Used for both my DC who were in it until they moved to their own rooms and I’ve just passed it on (refurbished) to my brother for his first. It’s lasted really well.

The Snuzpod is a bedside crib, not a sleeping aid / nest.

OP I love ours, I think it's well worth the cost.
16week old still sleeping in it, but not sure how much longer she'll fit in it unfortunately, she is a long baby!

Try to have a look at the tutti bambini cozee too- I nearly bought the snuzpod as saw it marketed all over Instagram etc, but the tutti bambini has all the same features BUT it can also fold down into a travel case in about 20 seconds so we're going to use it as our travel cot for staying with grandparents etc for the first few months. The only thing the snuzpod has is you can remove the bassinet from the top but I knew in reality I wouldn't want to lug it up and downstairs constantly, so we're just using our pram carrycot in a Moses basket stand downstairs instead.

Love our snüzpod. Absolute godsend. DD is 7 months and still in it now.
Plus they have a good resale value so you can make a bit of money back.

I had a snuzpod I found it made getting out of bed difficult would recommend one of the other models that has wheels.

I had one but in hindsight we should have just used a normal cot from the beginning. DD slept in a Sleepyhead right from the start and now at 8 months is in a Sleepyhead Grand, so we could have just put that into her normal cot. Waste of £200! I'll probably try and sell it on when I've got time Confused

Thanks all, sounds pretty positive!

@bumblingalonghappily, thanks for the alternative recommendation 🙂 I've measured up and the tutti might just fit as well xx

I think we'll go and have a look at and compare some in the shops and then decide 🙂

I liked ours and wished I'd had it with DC1. DC2 was in it happily till she was 9 months.

A friend lent us the snuzpod 2 so we just had to buy a new mattress etc. I loved the look of it but it is quite narrow so baby outgrew it by 5 months as she liked to sleep with her arms spread out. She slept so well in the snuzpod that transitioning her into her cot bed has been a nightmare! And she hasn't slept through since. But for that first 5 months the snuzpod was perfect.

Like some others have send we put some books at one end to create a tilt as we had a refluxy baby.

We loved the snuzpod 3 and managed to use it until DD was almost 9 months. Would totally recommend
