I just thought I would give this ago not sure if I am writing this in the write place but here goes!

I am pregnant it's my second child and I did try breastfeeding before but I just couldn't get the hang of it and it just hurt and was so horrible? But I realllyyy want to try again! But cause I have larger breast I was wondering if there was any of you lovely ladies who have any tips on ways to feed with larger breast to make it easier??

Trying to get baby to latch, I kind of 'postboxed' it, to get it in his mouth if that makes sense? I didn't have to do it for long, just until I stopped getting engorged between feeds.
When latched on, I used to lift my boob clear of his nose.
With regard to how difficult it is, all I can recommend is perserverance. And lanolin cream. I forget what it's called, it comes in a purple tube.

It's hard and it's sore at first, the hpa lanolin cream (purple tube) is a must and also Multimam compresses taken straight from fridge are oh so soothing when nipples are sore in early days. Crucial for me was weekly breastfeeding support group, through which I met people I'm still friends with today, nearly 2 years on.

This website is brilliant. Tons of info and suggestions.

It does hurt in the beginning, your nipples aren’t used to being in a mouth for hours at a time! The best thing you can do it research as much as you can so you're prepared.

Things like the let down reflex (can be ouchy, or you may not feel it. Both normal.) cluster-feeding, most babies do this for hours at a time - very normal! That expressing isn’t an indication of supply, babies are much better at getting milk out than machines. That if your baby is gaining weight, had plenty of wet and dirty nappies and they are alert when awake they are getting enough milk etc.

The first 6 weeks were rough for me, but I persevered and fed dd for 2.5 years. Once you’re past the hard stage it is honestly the easiest thing in the world. The best bit of advice I was given was “never give up on your worst day”. That saw me through and I’m so glad I stuck it out.

Good luck!

I gave up breast feeding last time at 6 weeks due to a whole host of issues. I’m currently now ebf my 8 week old. It was difficult at first but now it’s working well for us. Overall this time has been much easier than last time.

Get checked for tongue tie.
You can request that the community midwife sees you everyday until day 10 to help with breast feeding.

Roll a muslin cloth and pop it under your boob whilst feeding to prop it up and free a hand

I second the rolled up muslin. Practice makes perfect. Try different positions and kellymom is great but also find a local breastfeeding support group to go to. We're still going strong 10m in (to my surprise!)

Definitely different positions. Rugby ball is good when they are little.

Thank you so much guys!!! I really want to succeed this time round! So I am really hoping that all your tips will help!! I wish there was like a bra that can hold your boob up for you while your feeding 😂😂😂 that would be sooo helpful!

Roll up a muslin and put it under the boob to get the nipple in the best position.

Also get the position correct so the latch is right, tummy to mummy, nose to nipple etc.

Get a busing pillow and a travel mug to keep you comfortable and topped up with tea that's safe and will stay warm.

I've only found large enough nursing bras from bravissimo as well.

Good luck

Agree with the Muslin tip!

I also often have to hold the boob hes feeding from back from his face as almost suffocates him sometimes 😂

It’s awkward with big boobs and quite fiddly but it can be done!

Yeah I was always so scared while feeding my first cause I was scared she was going to suffocate!! Definitely going to use the Muslin tip

I have huge unruly boobs and have just stopped feeding my 18 month old. It was not easy to begin with but just keep at it, keep calm and do what works for you.

I always had to have baby on a pillow or cushion, and held my boob right up until I stopped. Kind of had my thumb and forefinger above and below of the nipple to hold back the bulk (lol) and support it. But you will find your own way. I wasn't ever comfortable feeding out and about because I couldn't find a discreet way apart from a big muslin but managed if I had to. Otherwise fed her in the car before I got out.
