Due my second baby in September and want to make my life a little bit easier as I will still have another LO to look after. What are some items you could not have done without ?
Currently looking into getting snuzpod and a rocker bouncer chair (just unsure which one).

If you are bottle feeding then a prep machine. You can live without them but they are a good thing to have.

Fisher Price bouncy chair, Caboo Close sling, Phil & Teds double buggy. I had a 19 month age gap though so needed a double. I also bought lots of second hand, cheap toys and books to give ds in the early days when I needed to entertain him for short bursts!

Dc1, tinylove rocker napper, stretchy wrap, bunny toy (still vital), baby bath, sleepyhead

Dc2, swing, mie-tai sling, muslins (sicky baby unlike dc1), sleepyhead

So basically what child 1 liked child 2 didn't.

My stretchy wrap carrier (I had the Hana one). I could carry on with everything from wiping the toddler’s bottom, playing in the park and making tea while carrying him. I also had a baby wearing coat so I could do all the outside farm jobs while still wearing him :)

Bambeano - small beanbag that DS1 settled into more easily than a bouncer. We usually take it with us to our friends house on a Friday night so it helps us maintain a social life :)

Stretchy wrap sling

Swivel car seat (we have Joie 360 spin)

Glow in the dark dummies (MAM make them)

Netflix subscription

I always think these are a bit marmite. I personally would not use a sleepyhead type product because they are not recommended as safe by the lullaby trust but breast feeding did not work for us and I love my perfect prep machine which I know others would never use. Then after your preferences or before comes baby’s preferences and they may hate something that someone else loved.

But I’m also here to place mark as I due DC2.

Wind up or battery operated swing - with number two you can't hold them all the time (I did with number 1!)

These are great thanks guys :).
Can anyone recommend the type of swing they have bought ? We had a swing and a bouncer for ds1 and he didn't really like either of them it was more just a place to put him if I need to do something. X

Baby bjorn bouncer.
Shnuggle baby bath (wish this had existed when I had my first three DC, it’s the best thing I bought hands down).
Sleepyhead ! Could not live without the utter godsend.

Jumperoo was excellent. Dd loved it.
Stretchy wrap and later an ErgoBaby
Muslins, hundreds of them. They make bf covers, sunshades, emergency outfit for poo explosions, wipes. And now dd is older excellent for removing my makeup!

When baby is older a well stocked medicine cabinet. There is nothing worse than a baby screaming in teething pain at 2am and you’ve run out of paracetamol liquid!

Lots of the above I would have on my list but absolute life saver for me was a baby bath thermometer. So useful when you're doing a million things at once and feeling paranoid about making the baby's bathwater too hot!

Yellow Metanium nappy rash ointment. Actual magic.

I'm expecting no.2 also and there are two things that are definitely on my list:

  1. The car mirror so I can't still see baby when he's facing away from me in the back of the car
  2. The baby monitor with movement alert, I would have been a nervous wreck without this with ds and would have been constantly checking if he was still breathing

Bouncy chair
Velcro swaddle wraps
Boppy pillow - he used to like napping on it for some reason when he was tiny, also good for tummy time and later helping him learn to sit up.
Nipple cream

Close Caboo; I borrowed mine from my local sling library for five months. I wish I had bought one now, I am very sentimental and would have liked to use the same sling for my next baby.

Netflix and Amazon video.

Guests who bring food and leave quickly.

A good pillow, cluster feeding knackered my back.

Bath thermometer, I still have nightmares about accidently scalding my baby.

A large memory card for my phone, needed the space for all the lovely baby pictures.

Guests and bring food and leave quickly

So much this! They were my favourite. Also ones who would stick a wash on in between newborn cuddles.

Another one for bath thermometer.

And a sensor mat w/ camera was my saviour (more for peace of mind) for the Moses basket/cot

Guests who bring food and leave quickly.

Love this!😄. Unfortunately with baby ds1 people brought food but did not leave quickly 😂
