So I lost my first daughter in July 2016, absolutely traumatic, first child, at 32 weeks severe abdominal pains at 3am and vomiting to arrive in hospital to find out baby has died: I was severely ill, ended up in HDU and taking my babies memories home in a box, skip forward 6 months, text book pregnancy with my daughter who is thriving, nearly one but now having insane night mare, was put on sertraline at start of pregnancy but recently changed to cilitropam

Still having horrible night mares not about the birth but scary enough to wake me up

Is this ptsd? Struggling mumma x

I’m so sorry for your loss, how awful. Are you having flashbacks in the day too? But not all traumas result in PTSD per se, it doesn’t mean you aren’t experiencing trauma symptoms after such a horrible experience. Have you been to your GP about it? Ask for a referral perhaps to the perinatal mental health team (hopefully there is one in your area). There are therapies available that are very effective for trauma (cbt, emdr), and don’t be fobbed off just with medication (can help as an adjunct for some people but not on its own). Or maybe even just talking it through with someone and getting some support will help. Good luck x
