Help. Tell me your tips in giving gaviscon (2 sachets) to an breast fed baby who won't take a bottle. He's 3.5 months old with silent reflux.

It is a nightmare to be totally honest with you this was one of thing that led me to give up breast feeding. I used to mix the randatine with cold boiled water and syringe it into the baby’s mouth.

My friends was given Rantitadine straight away because she was breast feeding. I would really push for it.

Was virtually impossible. I used a syringe but could only get in a small amount at a time. I gave up and relied only on Ranitidine.

I bf and used gaviscon, I would syringe it into corner of the mouth, renitidine is better though, medically and for ease of giving it to a bf baby

When did you start to see a difference to gaviscon?

It took maybe 3 days, I was only giving 1 sachet at a time

I noticed an instant change, my wee girl would go from screaming to relaxed and then fall asleep in my arms.
I mixed it with cold water and then syringed it in.
One night we needed the gaviscon in a rush because she wasn’t settling, but the water was boiled but not properly cooled yet and we found the gaviscon mixed far easier with no white clumps. Don’t know if you are supposed to mix it with slightly warmer water though 😳
