Hi

My 7 month old is teething pretty bad I think she's cutting her teeth but I'm not sure she's been chewing and dribble for months now but this week has been a nightmare, constantly screaming, won't sleep (has always fallen asleep her self in her cot with dummy), has really bad nappy rash, nothing seems to be helping/settling her, she doesn't want to be held, doesn't want to sit in her chair, doesn't want to lay down, doesn't want to sleep, she's slightly off her food/milk as well

So basically what I'm asking is
How do you know when the teeth are cutting?
How long do they take to cut?
What is best to help? She's had calpol, Ashton's and parsons powder, anbesol on her gums (which is the only thing that has remotely helped to take the edge off)

Thank you!

Have you had a feel or a look to see if you can feel a tooth? If it is teething it usually takes about a week, or at least it did for us. Have you taken her temperature just to make sure nothing else is going on? Metanium should help her bum too Smile

I have had a feel when putting anbesol on but I can't feel anything ☹️, I have tried to have a look but can't see anything coming through... i have had a feel temp wise, I can't find the thermometer anywhere (annoying timing to loose it!!) she feels okay Im pretty sure it's just her teeth, she's seemed a lot better today using anbesol every time she was getting uncomfortable, we have been using metanium on her bum for about 2 weeks now but hasn't seemed to work, it looks a bit better today and not as red, I've been giving her 30 mins (as long as she will without getting bored and frustrated) nappy free time on the towel and then giving her a wash over in the bath- hoping we start getting better soon!!
Thanks for your reply!

Not much help as I'm going through the same stage but with the sore bum. Bepanthem is the go too for me. Ive tried allsorts and that's the only one that seems to help :)

Nurofen is better than calpol but you can give both.

Lots and lots of naked time for nappy rash.

Thank you all!! Good to know people's tips and what works best, we have no other babies in the family so I'm just trying to guess my way through it! X
