Babies first cold

My DS is 3 months and has his first cold.

He sounds very snuffly in his nose and snotty. He's only feeding for a bout 3 minutes on each side so I'm offering them more.

Any tips on helping him get over it.

Thank you

Sorry your lo has a cold, it's horrible for the first time but babies are suprisingly resilient so try not to worry too much.

When DD has a cold we give her a dose of calpol before bed to help her settle, and if she has a very blocked nose we use one of those nose sucker things (sorry I don't know the actual name). She hates it but it helps clear her out before bed.

Hope so feels better soon!

The calpol plug ins are amazing but expensive. Cheaper in Home Bargins. Try feeding him in a steamy bathroom.

Also take them out for a stroll and a nap. I know it sounds counter productive but the cold air often means they can breathe better through the nose. Just wrap up super warm

Nasal aspirator used with a saline spray has been the most effective for all my kids including my 6 week old. It's instant relief at unblocking the nasal passages.

I gave my lo calpol in the early afternoon then a dose at night so she settled. Made sure she was wrapped up warm and gave her warm baths.
Hope your baby is better soon smile

Calpol plug in worked really well for my baby and my cold too

A drop of saline in each nostril before each feed should help.
