Explosive nappies! Down to teething??

Hi All,
For the last 5 days my 10 month old son has had explosive poops...covering his back and leaking out the nappy majority of the time. The contents of the nappy is often undigested food - so much so that someone could tell you what he's eaten! Oh and they smell vile!!! (sorry if too much information).

He is fine in himself, eating and drinking fine and we havent introduced any new foods. Concerned as he had lost a little weight at his recent weigh in and if he keeps on at this rate I'm concerned his weight will continue to drop. He's currently on the 25th.

He is constantly chewing his hands at the moment and he does appear to have two teeth coming through next to his two front teeth.

Could it just be down to teething? Has anyone experienced something similar?

Thanks.

Hi there, yes it's common to get loose stools when teething. As you said they smell strong though I would think it's more likely he does have a bug. Just keep up the fluids though he should be fine.

It will help if you feed him some baby rice and avoid things like peas/beans. Most likely he's just got a bug due to teething.
