Out of the mouths of babes.....

In the past week both of my DD’s have commented on my appearance. My eldest told me I have a double chin (I do!) and my youngest asked why I still have a tummy even though I already had her baby brother 5 months ago. (I think I have a bad case of diastis recti)
When I started BF their little brother, my eldest daughter declared that she was never doing that when she was older because she didn’t want nipples like that - apparently they’re disgusting. (TBF my nipples are now the size of dinner plates!)Blush

I have told them both that having a baby and BF is natural and that the female body is amazing and that it will go back to how it used to look (Kind of!Confused) in a while.
However, despite all of that;
I’ve never made any attempt to regain my pre baby body. This has never bothered me in the past but after baby number 3 I’m feeling old, saggy and more worryingly - constantly hungry! I have no willpower to adhere to any sort of diet plan and exercise regime and I’m starting to feel body conscious.
Has anyone got any suggestions/advice regarding how to tackle some if not all of the above?!

Firstly I would be having words with DDs about being kind and thinking of peoples’ feelings before speaking. You don’t say how old they are, and I know DC are sometimes too honest, but they also need to know that calling parts of your body disgusting isn’t on.

Do you go for many walks? I found getting out of the house, even if just walking to the park, helped me gradually drop the baby weight and also the fresh air made me feel tons better. The first few days were a struggle as I couldn’t be bothered but now it is a part of our daily routine.

If you do have diastis recti then be careful about doing any strenuous exercise as I think that can do more damage. Your DS is only 5 months, that’s no time at all. When I was having physio on my prolapse I was told to give myself until my DS was 12 months for everything to go back to normal. Be kind to yourself Smile
