Students with working partner

Well really I would like a rough idea of how much student finance I would get. Iv done the online calculator but it really says the same as a lone parent.

I don't know his basic wage off the top of my head but I will ask him I do know we won't qualify for working tax credits as we did a calculator on that to.

Any help will be brilliant thank you

I get my tuition fee loan then on top I get about £7500 a year split into 3 termly payments. About 2/3 of that is a loan and the rest is a grant. Seems to be pretty standard as the others on my course got the same. My husband earns over the threshold for tax credits or the childcare grant.

Lou, I'm in the same situation. There seems to be loads of info out there for single parents but not for parents with a working husband/partner. I did the online calculator and it also said I'd get the same as single parent which can't be right. My DH earns 28k which although isn't loads, it's not minimum wage either. I can't expect my DH to support me financially again.

I am confused about this too. I am about to start teacher training in September, only eligible for a loan not a bursary as Art teaching not considered important enough for bursaries. I have a 6 year old, so will need childcare after school.
I also can't expect partner to support me all the time. It's my house, my mortgage. My partner definately earns just over 45k though. Am I not eligible for anything?

My husband earned £27k last year and I just got a maintenance loan of £9k. I was shocked actually as I fully expected the minimum

I've just spoken to someone who got 10k maintrance loan but no help with child Care. Her partner earns 25k.
That was my worry really as this is what my partner earns. And my child Carr is 8k for the year for 3 kids he isn't their dad so i cant really expect him to help towards that cost. looks like he won't be moving in for the next 3 years
