Yep. Bassetts ones

CryingShame · 21/09/2017 17:18

We just use the Aldi childrens vitamins, which give 50% of the RDA of all the main vitamins.

SaigonSaigon · 21/09/2017 17:22

The Bassetts ones in winter time as an extra boost. Mainly because he likes berry flavours rather than orange ones

AugustRose · 21/09/2017 17:44

Yes I start them in September when they go back to school, then through until spring. Just to help give them a boost once back with all the other children - we usually buy the Bassetts ones but I have used Morrisons/Boots before - whatever is on offer as long as the RDAs are good.

PerfectlyPooPoo · 21/09/2017 17:53

Yes especially as we're really busy at the moment and just come back from holidays where they dc ate rubbish.

medicalmumof4 · 21/09/2017 18:52

Yes - I have given mine them.once they are 2ish. We use the Animal Parade ones - they have a multivitamin and then also a omega 3/6/9 one.

Allyg1185 · 21/09/2017 18:54

Yeah. I give my son the bassets ones. Sometimes lidls if thats where I'm shopping when I've ran out. Ive given him them since he was about 3. Hes not the best of eaters so I feel this just gives him a wee boost

HollyBollyBooBoo · 21/09/2017 18:55

Yes, I think they're a Boots own brand chewy gummy bear one.

MyfatheristheKing · 21/09/2017 18:55

We use the Lidl gummy ones. I have one too :)

geneveve · 21/09/2017 18:58

The kids love the Lidl multi vitamins. Would prefer they ate fruit and veg though.Confused

niceupthedance · 21/09/2017 19:00

Animal parade d3 ones

AtlanticWaves · 21/09/2017 19:00

Nope he eats lots of fruit and veg.

Tried the chewy orange ones once but no luck.

EllenRipley · 21/09/2017 19:15

Animal Parade 'Gold', multivitamin & mineral - the B12 is methylcobalamin (better than cyanocobalamin) and it has D3/K2 and probiotics. My son has a really good diet but I started him on these last year after he caught E. coli on holiday and I'm also conscious he doesn't get enough vitD, so he gets them during the winter.

Great thanks so much for all your replies!

Yes ds has autism and is under a dietician and she recommended Wellkid liquid that you can buy from Boots. A lot of them don't have iron in them but this one does.

mintmagnummm · 21/09/2017 19:30

Where do you all buy your animal parade ones from? I've been looking at bodykind website, is that a good one?

OP posts:
mintmagnummm · 21/09/2017 20:23

@EllenRipley some of the gold versions say b12 as the cyan one rather than the other one U mentioned as being better?? Bit odd Hmm

OP posts:
EllenRipley · 21/09/2017 23:24

That is odd. I think I got mine from Amazon, the label highlights the methylcobalamin as a selling point. Maybe they've discontinued it or different suppliers' stock has different manufacturing dates? I'll double check the label in the morn for you to make sure we're looking at the same one.

munchkinmaster · 21/09/2017 23:33

We use abidec (still). If I bought the jelly ones my 3 year old would seek them out and munch.

Think nhs recommendation is to use up to 5 but my 6 year old stil taking.

All very well eating fruit and veg but that won't make up the vitamin d.

EllenRipley · 21/09/2017 23:37

Just looked at Amazon, I got the cherry flavoured ones, but you can also get grape flavoured ones - they seem to have the cyano b12 version in them? The Amazon listing/description for the cherry ones doesn't give a list of ingredients or mention the b12, tbh I wasn't aware it was methyl b12 until it arrived, that seemed like a small bonus (given they were not cheap) - I'd been more focused on the D3 and probiotics!

mintmagnummm · 22/09/2017 05:42

Thanks @EllenRipley that is odd isn't it! I'd never even heard of animal parade until now! Seem to be very popular with high quality ingredients. Just can't decide whether to get the gold or basic ones Confused I'm so indecisive!

I guess Gold or normal might depend on how much of a sucker you are for the marketing claims! Well, in my case anyway. These ones do have an impressive list of additional 'whole food' good stuff, though who knows if the actual amounts present make a massive difference. If I'm buying supplements I always tend to ones that are more 'natural' and don't have loads of fillers. Here's handy pics of the one I've got, avec the methyl b12...

Thanks @EllenRipley I've just ordered the gold ones from Amazon. There were only 6 left in stock so I'm lucky.

Ok just an update, I got the animal parade ones and my son HATED them, so much so he cried his eyes out and got into such a bad state over the taste! So now I need to get a different one for him, so bassetts seemed to be the next popular right??
