MMR vaccine and egg allergy

Hi does anyone have a view on if it's worth having the M.M.R jabs done individually/ delaying them etc if baby is allergic to eggs? Anyone with any knowledge in this area! Thx

Two of my children are allergic to eggs and both had their MMRs without ill effect. We had to stay in the GP waiting room for half an hour afterwards. Is your child's reaction IgE or non-IgE.

Ige but quite low levels if that makes sense? We just found out

I delayed dd's mmr for months while the doctor decided what to do, they were unsure of whether she needed to be in a hospital for it. In the end we had it done at the GP's and just waited around after and she was fine.

Department of Health do not advise that egg allergy is a contraindication to MMR.
The following is from the 'green book' Immunsation against infectious disease publication.
^Allergy to egg
All children with egg allergy should receive the MMR vaccination as a routine procedure in primary care (Clark et al., 2010). Recent data suggest that anaphylactic reactions to MMR vaccine are not associated with hypersensitivity to egg antigens but to other components of the vaccine (such as gelatin) (Fox and Lack, 2003). In three large studies with a combined total of over 1000 patients with egg allergy, no severe cardiorespiratory reactions were reported after MMR vaccination (Fasano et al., 1992; Freigang et al., 1994; Aickin et al., 1994; Khakoo and Lack, 2000). Children who have had documented anaphylaxis to the vaccine itself should be assessed by an allergist (Clark et al., 2010).^

No egg in them - they're grown on chick cells. My two are anaphylactic to egg and have both had the MMR with no issues. Your paediatrician or allergy doctor will be able to advise further.
The nasal vaccine for flu does contain egg however - we avoid that one.
