My little one has a red bottom and it's sore, what is the best nappy rash cream to clear it up, that I put on at every change

Yellow metanium is very good I've found.

Try Canesten - most nappy rash in babies is thrush-related.

My ds3 has just had horrible gastro and his bum was red raw. Someone said try using cotton wool/squares dipped in olive oil instead of wipes to clean up poo and wee, and it's all cleared up in two days!

Bepanthem is great, try leaving the nappy off a little bit maybe 5/10mins then apply the nappy cream. Do this until nappy rash calms down. My little one a nappy rash when he was six weeks old it looked so sore and using bepanthem and airing leaving nappy off worked great.

We use calendula nappy rash cream as soon as DDs bum starts to look a little red and it is fine by next change. It is pricey but lasts ages and works.

Put the nappy cream on really thick. Leave a big thick layer of it all over his bum. It should be like a layer of icing on a carrot cake Grin

That's what my mum taught me and it worked for us, very quickly. We used Sudocrem.

Also, if you're using babywipes, stop and use plain water (or olive oil as suggested) instead.

Just been told at antenatal class not to put olive oil on babies as it disrupts the natural barrier of the skin according to latest research.

When my babies ever got a little red I would just wrap them in a few cotton blankets for a while instead of putting them in a nappy. That way their bottoms could breathe for a bit. It always worked to get rid of the rash.

My lb had it when he was teething. We always use Vaseline at every nappy change. And water wipes.
