Four month sleep regression - did you go through it?

Last night, 11 week old DS slept from 7pm to 4am. I'm used to at least two wake ups before that so I feel like a new woman today!

However, I don't want to get excited as I know possible sleep regression is just around the corner. Is it inevitable? Did anyone manage to dodge it?

I'm afraid we did. My dd slept brilliantly until exactly 16 weeks, then regressed massively 😴 Although at 10 months old she's sleeping well now. However my sisters lb has slept really well from 8 weeks and continues to sleep well at 2.5 years. Fingers crossed you skip that phase! Xx

DS started sleeping from 8-7 from about 13w which was a dream as until then he would be up every 2 hours. I thought we managed to skip the regression and admittedly was feeling rather smug when from about 2 weeks ago (he's 21w now) he has started waking every 4 hours and thinks 5am is an acceptable time to start the day! He has just had such a bad cold that he needed antibiotics and has 2 teeth cutting through so I'll forgive him but I'm desperate for him to sleep through again 😴

Yes- we went from 1 wake up and up for the day at 6/6:30, to having me up hourly for a couple of weeks. Mostly, DS wasn't hungry, he just needed a dummy/ cuddle/ thought it was morning at 3am. I was beside myself.

It did pass quickly for us- my friend's baby was like it for about 6 weeks.

I really hope you avoid it!

Yeah with both ds1 didn't sleep consistanly until 2.5 and ds2 has ups and downs still at almost 8 months. Take it as it comes try not to fight against their sleeping pattern try to find the easiest way to manage it for me thats a dummy and co sleeping some nights.

Yes both times. DD1 went from 4hr stretches to every hour or two which continued until she was a year when it returned to 4 hourly thanks to a bit of sleep training from broken parents, DD2 went from sleeping through 10.30-6.30/7 (depending on when DD1's noise woke her up) to every 4hrs.

I don't think you can ever count your chickens though TBH. There will be a number of things which can/will completely screw their sleep in either the long or short term. DD1 finally slept through at 16mo, and did for a long time, but now wakes 2 or 3 times a night at 2.10yo thanks to soft touch DH taking over her wakings.

DS1 hit every regression, but each lasted only a week or two before things returned to normal.. hopefully if you do experience it, it's only temporary.

I don't think my first daughter did. But she woke 2-3 times a night until she was a tear old. Dd2 is 13 weeks so we will see.

Nope. I expected it and waited for it and even thought it was starting at one point but he just needed more feeds during the day. If anything his sleep got a bit more regular at about four months.

I'm obsessed with napping though, I don't know if that helped. The sleep board on here has been invaluable.

I'm aware that our situation could change at any time though so I don't want to jinx it!

We're going through it at the moment and went through it with our first too. Can't remember how long it was with our first though. Hoping it's not too long this time.

All mine slept reasonably well until bang on 16 weeks and then it was hell. DS1 started sleeping better at 6 months, DS2 started sleeping better at 2 years and DS3 is 14 months and I'm starting sleep training as he still wakes up multiple times over night! Sorry......
