Do I need to tell ds's father a new address?

I don't think I do but thought I'd check if anyone has experience? I am moving with my DS11, actually a lot closer to ex. So as to not trip feed_ DS hasn't seen his Father since Nov 15 at DS's choice, he had panic attacks seeing him. Since then it has come out that there were some incidences where ex punched ds in the arm, pushed him down the stairs and a few more things. Social services are aware but as time had passed they haven't moved forward with it. DS does not want to hear form ex at all, throws card in the bin before opening etc.., still has nightmares.

Can I just tell him we are moving to within a rough vicinity? DS doesn't want him to know our address. Ex has my number and e-mail, also knows where my Father loves ( also close to ex) so could send any cards etc... there.

Would this be okay? I just want to help DS feel safe.

I would say your right to feel safe in your own home outweighs his need to be told your address.

I wouldn't tell him your address. I would also only tell him the old address no longer applies after you've moved.

Great thank you, great to hear an outside opinion.
