Advice needed - dry skin on 12 week old's face

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right board for this question, if not does anyone know what one to try?

I'm looking for some advice. My little girl is 12 weeks old and has got dry flaky skin on just one cheek, it's often sometimes a bit red and feels a bit hard. I've been putting coconut oil on but it doesn't seem to be helping. She sucks her thumb and often rubs her hands on her face so not sure what else I can put on that would be ok if she got it in her mouth?

She also has a little dry patch in her hair on the same side that sometimes looks red too.

I've just been using warm water to wash her face as didn't want any bubble bath etc to dry it out more.

Hey my love one has this i find the best thing for her is to wash with aveeno baby wash and use aveeno baby moisturiser daily :) works a treat and it's all natural i believe. Good luck x

Thanks. I was worried with something like that it would matter if she got any in her mouth? x

We had exactly this. I cured it in days by stopping using baby wipes on her face. Not saying that's what causing yours but if you do use wipes it's definitely worth a try.

My DS had this and I used some Vaseline at bed time. Only took 2 nights for it to clear up

Lansinoh nipple cream is brilliant for this and completely safe even if she ate it!

Breastmilk is good too if you are BF.

Hey i wouldn't think it would cause a problem as i say they are all natural I'm sure we've gotten bubbles in my LOs mouth at bath time lol but she had really dry sore cheeks just like yours and now they are lovely and soft x
