A 5 and a 2 year old. Will things get easier soon?!

I know everyone has different experiences but I am currently very tired all the time with a 5y.o. and a 2 y.o. Every morning I wake up and feel exhausted before I even begin! Have others found that when the youngest child gets to say 3 things get easier? Maybe I'm just in the toddler phase with my youngest and that's what's making it all seem so hard! Any light at the end of the tunnel would help...

Mine are now 5 and 3. Yes I'm finding it easier than it was last year.
For one, the 3 year old now has a couple of mornings at preschool which gives me a bit of time off.
The 3 year old now is happy to watch a bit more tv whearas he never used to be bothered, gives me a bit of chill out time to rest sometimes.
This morning they both got up and came downstairs while I dozed a bit in bed- would never have happened last year.
Although at the moment they are running around crazily and jumping on sofas saying they have superpowers- still definitely hard (mainly the 3 year old) but definitely easier than last year.

I have a 5 and a 2 year old as well and am also desperately hoping it improves soon! My 5 year old by himself is great, but the 2 year old is a nightmare and the 5 year old likes to join in when they're together! 2 year old is also up at 5 something everyday so super knackered.
Sometimes they play together quite nicely for a while and then I have these lovely images of how it will hopefully be when they're older, but for now the 2 year old is a master of throwing, hitting, shouting and general destruction and not so much of the nice playing.....

It does get easier I promise BrewCake Mine are 8, 5 and 2. I saw a marked difference when my first two were 5 and 3 years old, esp since my eldest was at school and my second started nursery. I think 2 years old is such a tricky time, great fun but so tiring ConfusedGrin

Thanks so much... Hearing that others find/found the same is a relief!!! I don't want to wish time away, and I'm sure I'll look back on it as a great time but, boy, I could really do with some rest! Shock

It gets SOOOO much easier!!

Mine are now 8 and 5 and I can almost go a whole day without seeing them.. Every now and then they'll ask for something to eat and then it's back to playing.. I've honestly been thinking about getting myself a hobby to fill in the time!

That sounds like bliss! Hate to wish the time away but after a relentless 2 days with colic I just need to go to the loo without hearing a screaming baby!!! Small things really
