TV when poorly

So my 20 month old is (I think) coming down with a tummy bug. Her childminder has one currently and she's been 'off' yesterday eve and this morning not vomiting but low fever and fractious, very emotional poor thing. But I guess could just be teething....she was up twice in the night too.

With DC1 I had a strict no TV before 2 rule and this time I am way way more lax. DC2 never gets 'sat in front of TV' by herself normally but will often wander in and out whilst it's on list school for DC1 (usually 45 mins a day in winter).

Anyway I'm wondering what others do when little one is poorly? Today I am supposed to be working at home and feel rather inclined to let her watch TV when she just seems very sorry for herself.

Do others let their kids' watch TV when poorly at this age? I feel so guilty but then keep thinking it's just a one off!

I'd set out some toys, pop the TV on and not give it a second thought. If she's poorly she'll fall asleep anyway. It's a one off. Don't beat yourself up about it!

My DD (2.4) started today by vomiting all over the living room :( so today is brought to you by Thomas and Peppa.

Cbeebies all the way. It won't do any harm and will distract her from her misery.

I may be a bit odd in this but I often make decisions like this based on what I would like if I were in that position myself. If I'm ill I like to lounge on the sofa with cushions watching TV so I let the DC's do the same them. Same as me they usually fall asleep at some point!

MrsJayy neither do I. I think you're being rather dramatic OP to be honest. It is just TV ffs. Let her watch it and like PP said, she'll most likely fall asleep. I don't get the angst either.
